Troubleshooting Landing Gear That Stopped Moving
Question:
Hi, My drivers side landing gear stopped moving up or down, luckily its in the up position and I'm thinking I need some new parts. The only thing I've found was under the cap on top if gear leg and its shows VMC900R - 082974 under the cap. Happened overnight and the landing gear won't come down, don't know if the nut stripped out or I back it off, but I can't budge it, even with a jack, everything else works fine and the top gear that I can see look good and there is still grease there. Thanks

If your landing gear is motorized, the motor works fine and the gear looks good you will want to test the switch; use a 12V battery to get power to the wire that signals the gear to extend. If it does extend with the 12V battery, the issue is the switch and the replacement you'd need is # LG-145236.
However, if you have tried to manually operate the landing gear and cannot move it at all, then the unit would need to be replaced. For that you can use the Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Set - 5,500 lbs # LG-1, or for 6,500 lbs you can use # LG-3. For manual landing gear you would want the Stromberg Carlson Manual Landing Gear Set - 8,000 lbs # LG-183708.
I have included a link to a video review of the electric landing gear for you to take a look at.
