I was still able to do the installation on my own although I did have some help (my wife held up one side while I bolted the other side). The installation was easy - pretty much a "no brainer."
I found the most difficult part was dealing with the spare tire. It took some time to disconnect and re-connect the spare tire's lowering cable.
The hitch is well made and sturdy.
Ordering from etrailer was easy. They kept me well informed during the ordering and shipping process. I'd give them 4 thumbs UP if I had 4 thumbs. I only have 2 so...2 thumbs UP etrailer.com!

I purchased a trailer hitch for my Chry 300, and it fitted and worked perfectly. It took me about 4 hours to install, because I didn't follow the instructions that were laid out in the video. So, when I purchased a hitch for my Ford Transit, I followed the direction, minus using help, and I was able to install it by myself in 1 hr. It would have taken 15 minutes if I had help holding it up, but I had to stack some wood to assist LMBO. Again, looks great, fits and works perfectly. Thank you much ETRAILER... I luv you

Easy to install. Took about 30 minutes. Everything lined up and went according to the instructions.
It sits a little low on the transit connect, so I just flipped the hitch ball mount around to make it higher. Took the trailer for a test spin and all works well. Very pleased.
Relatively simple install for one person. I struggled a little with lifting the hitch into place but used a jack to help. The sale was so easy and thorough. etrailer is the best. Their website is very detailed and easy to use. They also followed through after the sale checking in with me to see if I had everything I needed. Thanks etrailer!
Prompt delivery. Would recommend wrapping/padding ends of hitch as box had holes in it when delivered due to ends flopping around in box. No damage other than hopes in box.

Everything went good, my box was damaged in shipping and the hitch was poking through the box, but it was undamaged and I had no problem installing my hitch. I give the product a 5 star rating but give the packaging 2 stars.

Always concerned about such a big item working right, because return shipping would be a nightmare. Happy to say, the receiver hitch installed easy and works great with my hitch bike rack. It was delivered quickly. Clear, simple instructions included. Took about 30 minutes to install. No special tool or skills needed. Will never pay double again at ... when installing at home is so easy with etrailer!
Well, at 74, it is hard to mount this by yourself. I paid a mechanic to install it and to this day, I'm very happy with how it fits and is solid. Had I not purchased this unit, my campervan build would not be complete. It serves to hold a wheel chair carrier that I use as a platform to shower on. Hence keeping the wet soil out of my van.
Needed a hitch receiver to tow a cement mixer & small trailer for work had it installed by a friend who lead me to your receiver and he was impressed also....great product

The hitch has been working great, I have a cargo basket that goes on easily plus I tow a small cement mixer on occasion, it went in without any problems, I was worried about ground clearance but it doesnt seem to be an issue....I like it
Trailer hitch quality is great and is a very solid place to mount a bike rack. The problem is the transmission in the Transit Connect it not capable of towing much of anything and after towing a 1000lb trailer our transmission failed. It is a Ford Focus transmission and it just isn't up to the task. So 5 stars for the hitch if used for a bike rack or 1 star for it actually towing anything.
We bought this receiver for a cargo carrier for retirement traveling.
We backed onto double 2x6's to get more room. We put the hitch on jack stands. But I was not strong enough to lift it. We then put a 2x2 through the hole and zip tied to the spare tire cable and Ann winched and I guided the hitch up and bolted it on.
We love the hitch because the square hole is out far enough we can pin the carrier on and safety chain on without reaching under the van. Also good spot to hook for a snow bank winch out.

Works great. It was pretty easy to install once I got the mounts on my vehicle tapped (they were a little gunky and needed help taking the bolts). I am no mechanic and, although I had help tapping the holes, I did the rest of the install myself, I mean all by myself. It was totally easy as a one person install and took me only maybe an hour to mount the hitch receiver and wire up the trailer lights connection.
the hitch mounted very easy, with no problems. the wireing harness was put togeather in a complete packet, and very simple to enstall. we was able to put the small black box into the left rear light houseing for total wether protection, and spliced the two wires over to the right rear light housing unit. when finished, it looked very professional done. not so much on our part, but the quality of the products that you supplied sorry about not having any pics, they did,nt come out very good
Nice sturdy hitch - fits our 2013 Transit Connect just fine, though the spare tire presses against the right side, but should not be a problem - it's really tight in there but that's more an issue of the van than the hitch - the instructions were helpful especially dealing with the two wire bundles - please note that you'll need an 18mm socket for the bolts - I'm using it to hold a Yakima bike rack and I'm sure it's strong enough for that
Excellent hitch. Installed easily per instructions, looks good. My only concern is that it sticks out from the bumper on my 2013 Ford Transit Connect about 4 inches. I think all hitches for this model would be the same fit due to the vehicle. Quick shipping and prompt emails from E-trailer. Great service.

I’ve ordered a few of these hitches through the years and they work as they should, the only problem I find is the powder coating is not very good, they all rust within a year. I had one on my transit it was so bad I had to replace it.
I still buy from etrailer though, there service is pretty reputable but maybe have a talk with the coatings department.
My newest one I finally installed on my pro master in September we’ll see how it goes.
Received my hitch from Etrailer the other day. Was astonished with the size and weight of the assembly and how easy it was to install. Had a little bit of trouble with the wiring harness on the passenger side rear tail light as they is no access to the tail light through a rubber grommet so I had to be inventive. But all in all it took me about 45 min to install the hitch and 2 hrs to run the wiring harness. I'm very please with the product and will recommend Etrailer to future clients.

The hitch is still working great. The black paint is holding up without any signs of wear. Totally maintenance free. Will go through etrailer for future hitch purchases.
