No issues at all.

Worked out awesome. I bought this for a buddy for his used truck. The previous owners for what ever reason took it. Plugged it in and worked flawlessly.

by:
2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

The transaction went great. Delivered on the time I was told good product

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

2016 Porsche Cayenne

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

by:

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

by:

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

by:

Still working after a year. Performs as expected. Easy to install.

1995 Ford F-250 Super Duty

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

by:

Easy to install and has worked every si nce

2000 Toyota Tundra

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

by:

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

by:

Wrong Pollak product. needed Pollak 12-705 6-24 volts Female (truck)

by:
2015 Audi Q7

The right adapter, fits Audi q7 factory tow package. 1/3 the price of Audi part. Fast shipping, etrailer is the place for reasonably priced trailer parts.
Thanks George

  • Identifying Wires of 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 for Installing New 7-Way Connector
Your easiest solution for wiring a new 7-way to your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 that has the wire colors you mentioned is going to be to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test all the wire colors you have while applying various lighting functions like blinkers and running lights so that you can identify them and then use the attached diagram to match them up with the correct locations. I wish there was a way to look up the wire colors you have but that's not something we have access to.

  • Parts Needed to Install Tow Bar Wiring on Vehicle Towed on Tow Dolly
You'd need the tow bar diode wiring kit part # RM-152-1676-7 installed on your 2018 Honda Pilot Touring and then an additional 7-way socket wired into your motorhome wiring like with the # PK11998 and the socket # PK11893 and you'd be set. You'd need to use the harness to tap into the correct circuits of your 7-way wiring to do this.

  • Can 7-Way 12 Volt Accessory Circuit of 2013 Ford F-250 be Active all the Time
A lot of vehicles do have the 12 volt accessory circuit of the 7-way only active when the vehicle key is on. It's not hard to disable this feature but you'll have to run wire from directly from the vehicle battery to the trailer connector. For that you'd want to run a length of 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) through a breaker like part # 9510 to the positive battery post.

The screw holes for the 7-way socket are 2-1/2 inches x 1-3/4 inches, which match your specification. Thanks for the picture of the 7-way you have on your Motorhome. While we don't carry the Intertek brand the Pollak 7-way part # PK11893 that you referenced is a direct replacement since thankfully the RV industry uses the same design. So this will plug right into the round connector your current 7-way has and work well.

  • Why Would Trailer with Surge Brakes Work Allow Reversing for a While Then Stop
If the trailer with surge brakes used to let you back up but now it's not that would indicate it has an electric reverse lockout solenoid that is currently not working. This could be a blown reverse light trailer wiring fuse, bad wiring, dirty trailer wiring connectors, bad wiring on the trailer to the solenoid, or a bad solenoid itself. Since a trailer shop looked at it that would indicate it's probably a blown fuse or bad wiring/corrosion that is at fault.

There may be breakaway system that is wired in with the 12 volt circuit from the trailer connector so when the switch is off it basically closes off that circuit. That would explain why the brake...
