The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector plugs right into existing light wiring to give you a clean 4-flat output. The plug-in design keeps installation simple—just connect it behind the tail lights and you’re ready for running, turn, and brake lights without splicing any factory wires.
Many vehicles can’t handle the added load from trailer lights on their own circuits. This harness includes a powered converter that draws power directly from the battery through its included power lead. That setup takes the electrical load off your vehicle’s lighting system and prevents trailer shorts from damaging the original wiring.
The Curt C56434 requires a dedicated 12-volt feed from the battery for proper function. Running this power wire straight to the positive terminal gives the converter stable voltage and ensures built-in circuit protection works as designed. That’s what makes your trailer lights bright, consistent, and safe every time you tow.
This kit is designed with hidden connectors that tuck behind interior panels and trim for a factory-style look. The 4-flat plug can be stored inside the cargo area when not in use or mounted outside near the hitch with optional brackets. It’s neat, protected, and ready when you need it.

Hitch and wiring kit were perfect. The box they were shipped in was terrible. The hitch had busted throuhh the cardboard and there were several places where paint was knocked off. I'd suggest shipping these hitches in sturdier packaging.
Plug and play. Worked great. Directions could be a bit better and in color would help since wires are colored
Great product. Installed in 2021 Rav4 Prime SE. The etrailer video was excellent - watch it, then watch it again, and keep it open on your phone while doing the install. I used an inexpensive set of interior trim removal tools that helped get the cargo area opened up. I followed the standard instructions exactly but made these two things different because the Prime is a little different than the Hybrid in the video. First, for the ground I used the available M6 weld nut on the driver side near the bottom - check out the photo. Your model may have something in there, but on mine it was not being used and I had an M6 bolt in my work area so I used it. I also hooked up the ground from my 7-pin to be secured here as well. The second difference is that I used the grommet from the spare tire well just inside the latch. Under the heat shield, this area is not going to see much if any water, but I still sealed it up with silicone. I was skeptical of the use of packaging tape in the video to secure the wires, but it has so far worked out great.
Trailer hitch was the easiest. Four bolts and its done. Crowfoot adapters were definitely required (mentioned in the installation video).
Strong enough Made to fit my RAV4 2022 Toyota. I can now carry two electric mountain bikes and pool a lightweight small camper trailer with it and feel secure.

The trailer hitch fit perfectly on to the RAV4. 4 bolt easy installation. Great quality and strength. Very impressed.
The hitch looks well made once the temps drop below100 I might lay on the asphalt to install it, I’m thing around 4:30 am.
I had checked on the OEM for my auto & the price was in orbit.

Excellent, as per usual. Etrailer is the best place to get the exact fit for all the vehicles I have had over the years. I've had no problems with this wiring kit. Easy to install, the instructions were thorough and clear, and it's been performing well with my car and trailer a couple times a week for the last year.
The Curt T-Connector installed and worked as advertised. Make sure the watch the video eTrailer provides. It made the installation easy.
Wiring connected the the car's wiring without a problem. I did run into a few troubles though. I used this kit on a 2019 Rav4 Hybrid Limited. The wires from the left turn signal to the control box were too short of allow mounting to the the floor. I had to remove a speaker box to run the wire behind it and mount the control box. Since the wires wouldn't reach the floor I mounted the box to the wall behind the speaker, mistake, the box fit too close to the wall to allow room for the controller. I wound up mounting the controller the the lower left portion of the speaker box. After that everything went well.

Easy to install took about 30 min. You will need hitch 1 1/4 to fit. I had to buy an adapter because I wanted both size ball hitches.
Easy install on a 2024 RAV4 Prime. Battery in the Prime and hybrids is in the on right side so no running the power wire to the engine!
Get this for your 2025 Rav4 instead of the the other product that was recommended by trailer initially where you have to separate and attach wires separately. This is a snap and go and makes it much easier. The hardest part for me was running the power wire from the battery back to the unit since I could not lift my vehicle off the ground easily to make access easier.
Also, the ground wire connection near the unit is made by drilling a hole then inserting self tapping screw. I skipped the threads with top much cranking on the screw. Be carefull not to screw in too tight or you will strip the threads too.
Installation video was great. Took awwhile to install the control box but was able to complete the process on my 2023 Rav 4 Prime without any problems.
The trailer hitch was very easy to install. Took about 45 minutes total. The T-connector harness was also easy to install just took a couple of hours to complete. I’m very impressed with the quality of both products.
wiring installation not too difficult. a better video or instructions might have helped. on the driver side of the 2025 RAV4 is a sealed rubber grommet the power lead can be passed through. poke a small hole in it with a small screwdriver and feed it through. you can run the wire under plastic panels under the vehicle and pass into the engine compartment through the front wheel well.
Another awesome purchase, very easy to setup I was surprised. When I read I had to run a wire from the battery I almost stopped but the video online showed how easy it was and I'm glad I did it. Such a clean install, no tape, no wires hanging out, hides in the spare tire well when not using, perfect!

Love it, well in fact I never have to think about it but I use it every week to take the trailer to the dump for grass clippings. The wiring kit has never had an issue, all lights work, still just as happy!
The 4-pole connector I got for my new car does not fit with the 4-pole connector on my trailer. You made both wiring harnesses.

I looked at both the wiring harnesses that you have purchased from us and both are a standard 4 flat, now I am not saying you are wrong because sometimes things get out of factories not made correctly. Can you please respond directly to the email you receive with pictures of the new 4 flat, the 4 flat on your trailer, and a picture of them not working? I would like to figure out what is going on with this Matthew =)
I was concerned that installing the wiring harness would be difficult, but it truly was plug and play and simple as could be. The hardest part about installation was accessing the wiring to the taillights, which required total disassembly of the interior finishes behind the back seat. The instrucions were clear as could be. The process was just time consuming.
Great customer service and Rachel helped me make sure I purchase everything I needed for a complete tow package. The receiver and electronic package was easy to install.

Saving money and getting it installed yourself is a huge win, and we’re glad the resources gave you the confidence to tackle it without any major hassle. That’s exactly what we hope for with the step-by-step videos and support. Side note, are you towing a trailer?
Installation is not for the feint of heart, as one must be comfortable with basic automotive wiring and wiring harness connections, as well as with pulling apart brand new car interior panels. It took about two hours to open everything up, complete the connections, neatly tie up the new wiring with plenty of zip ties, and put interior back together. Unfortunately, both the written instructions and the instructional video from etrailer were missing a few details that I figured out on my own to complete the installation neatly on my 2025 Toyota RAV4 XSE PHEV.
We purchased this product at the referral of a slesman from whom we purchased a newer vehicle. We had our local mechanic install the hitch on her RAV4. The product arrived within the time frame stated and my wife has had no problems with the operation and use of the hitch. We are pleased with the product and would endorse this product and this vendor>
