How Do I Get Power To The Module C56434 On A 2023 Toyota RAV4

Question:
Sir or Madam....Regarding the Curt 56434 Wiring Harness for a 2023 Rav4, what would be wrong with splicing into the rear 12V pwr receptacle to power the converter as opposed to running the wire under the car from the battery? That circuit is rated for 10 amps too. The only downside I see is that the brake lights would not work w/out the accessory switch on, and I might have to disconnect the trailer wiring before using the outlet or it might draw too many amps. Thank you. Paul

No you would not want to wire the module on the # C56434 to the 12v receptacle in the rear. Main reason being this outlet may not have enough power to power the outlet and the trailer lights at the same time. A wire will have to be run directly to the battery so that we have a dependable, constant 12v. The Curt instructions are very specific on this, and we do not recommend deviating from the instructions in any way.

I bought this kit a couple years ago to install on a 2020 rav4 hybrid, but never used it before trading for a 2023 rav4 hybrid. Now I just completed the install on my 2023 and the rt side lites all work but on the left only the running lights work, no brake or turn signal. I've tried both my trailer and a portable set of lights I have to verify. and both work the same I've double checked all the connections and ground wire and they all seem ok. Now what?
