Which Weight Distribution System is Better ProPride or Equal-i-zer?
Question:
Would a Propride WDH be overkill compared to an Equal-I-Zer WDH for a F-250 pulling a travel trailer? Top weight of the tt would be 9250. Hitch weight about 1100 pounds. Trailer length 26 feet. Looking forward to your responses. Thanks

It completely depends on the amount of trailer sway you are experiencing and the conditions you are towing in. The ProPride 3 Weight Distribution Hitch w/ Sway Control for 2-1/2" Receivers item # PR47QR uses pivot-point projection technology that corrects sway and helps keep your trailer centered. This system works by control links that drastically reduce trailer sway by projecting any force on the trailer forward to the rear axle of your tow vehicle. The two 3/4" thick links prevent the trailer from pivoting side-to-side on the hitch ball.
The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ37140ET will not be able to match the ProPride 3 when it comes to combating trailer sway. This is one of the best examples of you getting what you pay for. If you are experiencing nearly out of control conditions when being passed by a semi or blown off the highway traveling through high wind areas you will want the ProPride System. Both have identical capacities for maximum weight and tongue weight.
I also recommend the Classic Accessories Tow Bar and Weight Distribution Tote item # CA80113. This heavy duty bag is perfect for storing your weight distributing hitch. It is 36" x 11" Wide x 8" Tall and has padding that prevents damage to your hitch and prevents dings to your vehicle's cargo area from shifting gear.
