Question:
Last week I experienced some serious cross winds while towing our TT Toy Hauler home from a service appointment. It pushed me all over the place going down the interstate. My equal-i-zer hitch has been great but still gets iffy around 18 wheelers and cross windsmy 1st experience with these high winds. Ive heard the sway control offered by the ProPride hitch is vastly superior. Is a ProPride hitch going to help any in those high winds? Will it help with being sucked in by the 18 wheelers? Im towing a 9000lb TT with my chevy 2500.

The ProPride 3P Weight Distribution Hitch w/ Sway Control for 2-1/2" Receivers item # PR47QR you referenced is far superior to your Equalizer weight distribution hitch and the highest rated system on the market right now. It uses pivot-point projection technology that corrects sway and helps keep your trailer centered. This system works by control links that drastically reduce trailer sway by projecting any force on the trailer forward to the rear axle of your tow vehicle. The two 3/4" thick links prevent the trailer from pivoting side-to-side on the hitch ball. This weight distribution system will be extremely effective in limiting trailer sway when passing semi's on the highway. The ProPride has a tongue weight range of 850 lbs - 1,400 lbs which will be perfect for your 9,000 lbs travel trailer.
I also recommend the Classic Accessories Tow Bar and Weight Distribution Tote item # CA80113. This heavy duty bag is perfect for storing your weight distributing hitch. It is 36" x 11" Wide x 8" Tall and has padding that prevents damage to your hitch and prevents dings to your vehicle's cargo area from shifting gear.
