Replacement Mounting Hardware for Older Thule/GM Rooftop Cargo Box Similar to TH667ES

Question:
I purchased a used Thule carrier. It has a GM logo next to the Thule name on the side. I thought the carrier was a 667ES of the Time Travel series. Looks just like it. However, the holes for mounting do not seem consistent with the U-bolt technology used for the 667 after talking with Wayne at etrailer. My carrier has 4 sets of 4 holes on each corner for mounting and they appear to measure 2 inches a part. The carrier came with very little hardware but Im not sure if original or mismatched. The primary piece of hardware is 4 gold color plates with 3 holes each seems to measure about 2 inches apart however when I go to the hardware store and try to put a 2 inch u-bolt up to the plates they do not quite seem to fit the bolts are too wide by a fraction. The plates do seem to cover the holes at least 3 of the 4 on the carrier bottom. From research on your site I believe the plates are the same in the TH04851 kit. This kit might do the trick but it seems like a ton of hardware, lots of plates, to mount the carrier. By the way, Im mounting to a thule square bar. Ideally, for ease and I believe security of attachment and cargo, I would love to get a 2 inch wide u-bolt with a hard plastic wing nut for the interior and perhaps a narrow plate for stability on the the inside too as the above mentioned plates do not fit inside the unit given some contour ribs on the interior There are 3 tags inside the carrier but it seems your system might only allow me to upload one pic per question. My guess is you all might have some insight?? Thanks for any help. Also need a key!

Thule has indeed produced cargo boxes on an OEM basis for other companies such as Sears and sometimes these have different hardware than the regular Thule products (to allow them to hit a different retail price point). Thule may also change their hardware during later production runs to new and improved types. The good news is that there are several options in mounting hardware for cargo box such as the similar Time Travel TH667ES.
We offer only the U-bolt for the EasySnap Mounting Hardware Kit, part # 43216, that fits the Time Travel series. The other components have been discontinued by the manufacturer.
