Measuring a Spindle on a 1988 Long Chih Trailer LCI-851T to Determine the Correct Bearings
Updated 09/29/2014 | Published 09/27/2014 >
Question:
Hi, I need a trailer bearing kit 4 bearings/races and 2 seals for my Long Chih fold-up Fred Meyer red trailer 1988. I looked at your Long Chih info and saw that the kits mentioned were ~1.980inch ODs, my ODs are ~2.045. If you have a kit for this please let me know. Seal no.s: 579 VB2 31 52 7 4 SDA ~2.0+inch OD x ~1.0inch ID Bearings: Japan WT NTN 30205 I ordered a kit from Northern awhile back but the bearings were roughly .050inch too small in the OD. 1.980inch vs. 2.045.

The part numbers you have provided do not cross reference to anything we have, which does happen. It doesn't mean that we don't have anything that will fit. It just means that we have to determine all the parts you will need, if available, a different way.
You will need to take very accurate measurements of the spindle to determine the correct replacement parts. The measurements have to be taken using a set of dial or digital calipers. I have included a picture that shows where to take the measurements.
