Where is the Ground Wire on a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2002 Ford F-350
Updated 09/23/2014 | Published 09/22/2014 >
Question:
I received your last email with your answer to my question on low voltage at trailer connector on turn and brake light connections that are only getting 6 to 8 volts while the lights connection reads 13 volts. You said it sounded like a ground issue. Where do I find the trailer ground wires and their connection points on my truck?

Expert Reply:
If you are looking at the back of the trailer connector on your 2002 Ford F-350 where the wires attach then the ground wire is in the 5 oclock position. On the trailer side the ground wire would be in the 7 oclock position.
It might be difficult to determine where the ground wire terminates on the vehicle. If all else fails you could attach a new ground wire in that location and attach it nearby to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface on the frame.
