You're lining up your equipment trailer again and the coupler won't engage the ball cleanly. This cast coupler uses an eZ-Latch that automatically engages when lowered onto a 2-5/16" ball. Includes mounting hardware.
When your trailer gets hooked and unhooked often, a fussy latch slows everything down. The eZ-Latch lets you lower this coupler over your 2-5/16" hitch ball without tugging the latch open first, then it locks automatically once lined up. Your hookup routine gets simpler, faster, and easier to repeat.
Disconnecting should not turn into a wrestling match after a haul. Lifting the handle releases the coupler socket from the ball, giving your trailer a straightforward uncoupling step when it is time to park, unload, or switch trailers.
For equipment, dump, utility, and work trailers, the connection needs to match the job. This cast steel ball coupler is SAE J684 certified and rated for 15,400 lbs GTWR, giving your trailer hardware a defined capacity for heavy towing setups where a loose or questionable coupler is not worth keeping in service.
Road debris and close contact around the tongue can be hard on exposed latch handles. The low-profile eZ-Latch handle is contoured so hazards can slide over the top, and its impact-resistant polymer-nylon-resin construction is corrosion-proof. Your coupler keeps the latch area easier to operate after normal exposure to the road and weather.
When your trailer sits between jobs or trips, the eZ-Latch design gives you a 5/16" diameter side hole on the coupler body for a coupler lock. Installing a 1/4" diameter lock (sold separately) through that hole keeps the latch from lifting, helping your trailer stay secured while parked and keeping disconnect control in your hands.
Finding the right bolts is a common delay when replacing a coupler during a trailer rebuild or repair. Included mounting hardware removes that extra step, so you can focus on fitting the coupler to your mounting setup and getting the trailer back into service.

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here from Etrailer, and today we are in Fort Worth, Texas at the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers Convention 2026, where we have quite a few of our vendors that we have at etrailer. And let's put a face to the name of those companies and also see what products they offer. I'm here with Easton from Demco. I'm a huge Demco fan. They have awesome products, American made, and the easy latch is one of my personal favorites for hooking up trailers. But you guys have a few new configurations.
Yes, sir. What do we have All right, first of all, this big one, this is our new gooseneck. So we have this available in round and the square tube that you're seeing right here. Like our other couplers name to fame, the easy latch lowers down and automatically latches. Composite handle with a lifetime warranty.
We also have a new 15.4 K adjustable mount coupler for the channels. And a new 18 K A-frame. Kind of a weird look, but pretty cool. So Easton looking at this coupler, it's kind of a unique design, but obviously you have a spot here, to put your jack. Yep.
Brad What's this gap here for Easton So we had to actually remove a lot of metal to shave the weight off, but this is also a weld point to get to that 18,000 pounds. But another cool thing about this, they can, if they don't want the jack, they can cut this off right here and remove that whole jack hole. Just this portion is needed to make that weld strong enough to make an 18,000 pound. Well that's really, I mean, just to be able to kind of get the welder on the top know that it's stacked up really good. Yeah, it's gonna be nice and solid.
So again, just, it's a coupler, but, and you go, what else can you do with it But innovation is still there and Demco is doing it. It's a unique look. It is, it is, it's very unique. I can't say I've seen a coupler that looks like this. Yeah, right. So the easy latch, I mean, obviously it makes it easy, but what are some of the, what are the benefits of it Why would someone wanna swap their coupler to something like easy latch Yeah, so couple things, American made. Like I said before, these composite handles have a lifetime warranty no questions asked. So if a customer breaks 'em, we replace it for free. And then like you just saw, it will automatically latch. You don't have to open this up or anything when you're lowering it onto the ball. So it automatically latches. No safety pin is required. We exceed all DOT and SAE requirements for safety a pin. So that's, it's a much safer, easier to use coupler. And honestly, the peace of mind too. So many times I've hooked up trailers, even personal life or at work, you go, oh, it's latched. Yeah. But not always. And you start moving and it shifts. The cool part about this is, you know, it latched. It gives you that nice audible click, but also it's really, touch points are great. Yep. Touch points are fantastic. It's super easy to use. I love the fact that, you know, it's down here. Once you pull it in, it's gonna pop that down, you know, it's latched. So a super great addition. Again, if you're hauling all the time and you just wanna make that coupling uncoupling a lot easier rather than a rusty, you know, handle to do that. Yep, you don't have to kick it or pinch your hand or anything. It's just, it's very simple, dummy proof. Yeah, no brainer. And this really nice, pretty lightweight too. Yep, so it shaved off a lot of the weight. We've had a 21 K for years and years and years. Finally lowered the weight to 15.4 K, so it's quite a bit lighter than that 21 K. Very cool. Well Easton, thank you so much for taking the time to give us a look at some of the easy latch from Demco products. Yeah, thank you.
Ratings & Reviews
I will never have any other coupler than Demco on any bumper pull trailer on my farm. I am done struggling with other couplers either being hard to couple or hard to release.
The coupler is extremely beefy and easy to use. I’d give it 5 stars but the packaging was sub par and has some fairly deep dings in it. I understand it’ll get marks at some point, just not expected to come like this new. Would recommend if the packaging situation got figured out as I’ve seen a couple reviews similar to this
I installed the coupler Saturday, pulled the trailer yesterday for the first time since I put it on. It made a big difference in the handling of the trailer. Because of the wear on the old coupler, this took the tongue bounce out of the trailer.
The coupler came quickly and fit perfectly. So much better than the original.
I will make sure all my trailer business will go to etrailer.
Best quality hitch I have seen. Great weld ability. High standards all the way around in this product.
I decided I wanted to renew my Dad's old trailer. Starting with a trailer coupler upgrade to the adjustable "eZ-Latch". Thanks to etrailer it was an easy, convenient one stop shop and I couldn't be more pleased with the products and service. When it comes time to do the running gear and tires, etrailer will be my source.
Thank you!
Installed this AWESOME hitch on my 20 ft equipment trailer after I upgraded to 8k axles. This hitch is a beast. I love the no touch when hooking up. Just lower the trailer down and it makes a positive lock sound. I welded the hitch to a 1/2 inch thick plate. Welded the plate onto the trailer and used my own gussets instead of the supplied ones. You won’t go wrong with this hitch!
Everything as advertised. This is a heavy duty coupler! I would purchase again if needed.
This is the best hitch on the market! I've changed over all 4 of my trailers to this hitch. Simple hook/unhook, releases off the ball smooth, no pins to mess with. The included steel bracket (product #DM6125-81) is super heavy duty & so is the hitch itself, plenty heavy for any 2 5/16" trailer. I hacked off my existing hitches w a cutoff saw, welded a plate then the bracket and did each of my trailers , w paint, in less than an hour.
Really well-made, better than expected for the price. Excited to use the new design to replace the old style that locks up. Note this is not finished, as it welds in, and will required primer and paint.
A great upgrade to the original coupler that came with the trailer. All couplers work. This one is just easer to operate which comes in handy in bad weather. It also has a 5/16 hole for an additional lock or pin.
It's a good trailer coupler, but sadly, someone from etrailer failed to properly package the coupler or I was sent a used one. Either way, I'm not happy with this purchase. Maybe someone from etrailer will contact me and we can have the issue resolved.
Good communication, and part what I thought it was, fast shipping
Super fast shipping.
Extremely fast shipping with great rates. Etrailer beats going to the store as the shipping is so speedy.
Shipping was on time. Quaility excellent. Bolts for mounting hitch to receiver were to long. Additional lock washer and easy install. Really easy to use!
This is the third one I've bought. You just back up, drop it on the hitch and it's hooked up.!) To disconnect, you just lift the lever handle (so smooth and easy) and it's loose. Eliminates all the frustration and works smoothly. Great product!
Definitely.A great hitch would have liked to see a pin to hold the latch down. Otherwise great product really heavy duty
Excellent coupler. Fit my single axle trailer with the adjustable channel mount. Makes connecting the trailer to my ATV or car super easy. Much better than a regular coupler that is difficult to engage and disengage.
Best coupler I have found. Have converted three trailers to these. When moving a trailer with a ball hitch adapter on a piece of equipment (3-point hitch on a tractor in our case), the auto-latch feature lets you attach to the trailer without getting off the machine.
solid build, heavy.
This is installed on a dump trailer so we needed a cast hitch--the original was steel and the gusset underneath bent with use and abuse to the point of only being functional with the aid of a 5LB hammer.
I had to grind a little on the back end to make the bolts align to both holes (maybe 1/16th?) but other than that, it is a step up from the original hitch.
Yes, I know this will void any warranty.
Perfect addition to my new trailer. The original junk coupler was a pita to use.Had to use free hand to hold lock back while jacking up to remove trailer from truck.Honestly looking forward to using the trailer now.
I borrowed a trailer last year equipped with the Demco and it was my first experiance with it and I loved it so I bought one.I like the release handle yea its plastic but honestly dont see how a person could break it but Im sure it will be done but not on my trailer
Also like the fact that it will latch with lever down It does have hole for safety pin which I bought from local trailer shop.I encourage anyone looking at these couplers to watch Demcos YT video
Worked perfect with the adjustable weld on channel. Was able to drop the ball coupler 10” from the old lunette height on an M1101 military trailer. Not a lot of fab work, just a couple of 3/8” plates and bolted them up and welded the channel on an bolted the ball coupler at the height I needed to level the trailer when towing with my Jeep Galdiator.
