Question:
I need a hitch for my Blue Ox tow bar. I have a 7.5inch difference in height between the motorhome and baseplate. So I am thinking I need a 6inch . However I am concerned about the length the hitch will add. For example, the Roadmaster 6inch hitch is less expensive but appears from the photo to have a longer length than the Blue Ox hitch.

I am assuming you are looking for the shank that your Blue Ox tow bar attaches to. We do offer several. In researching tow bars and how they are attached, the end of the tow bar that attaches to the base plates should not exceed a rise or drop of 3 inches from the center of the RV hitch receiver.
I recommend the Roadmaster High-Low Hitch Adapter, part # RM-048-6. This adapter measures 9-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the pin hole on the receiver, and has a 6 inch rise or drop.
For a high-low adapter that is a little longer, you can check out part # RM-048-6. This adapter measures 10-1/4 inches between the hitch pin hole and the receiver pin hole.
I have attached a photo of these two adapters which shows the dimensions.
If you are looking for a hitch that can be installed on your motorhome which will allow you to be able to flat-tow your 2002 Pontiac Grand Am, I recommend the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver For RVs, part # 13703. This hitch will fit Box frame, C-Channel frame, or I-Beam frames from 22 to 72 inches wide.
