What is the proper range of lug nut torque for a small trailer with 4.80 x 12, 4 lug galvanized steel wheels with Load Range B tires?

Helpful Expert Reply:

You likely have 1/2 inch studs on the trailer hub. For 1/2 inch you will want to torque the lug nuts to 75 - 85 foot pounds.

For 9/16 inch lug nuts torque them to 135 - 145 foot pounds.

And for 5/8 inch lug nuts torque them to 175 - 225 foot pounds.
