Question:
Hi, I have a 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser wired with a 4 pin towing wiring set up. I want to convert the 4 pin wiring harness to a 7 pin wiring harness set up. Is there a productset available with a electric break controller to complete the conversion? Didnt find a video or 7 pin conversion setup . Thank you,

The first thing you will need to get a 7-way connector on the rear of your 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser, is part # ETBC7. This will attach to the 4-way connector you currently have and with additional wiring, give you a 7-way connector at the rear of your vehicle.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885. This is our most popular brake controller because it is easy to install and use.
You may need extra wire when you are installing the # ETBC7, so I recommend part # 10-2-1. This is a by the foot jacketed 2-wire 10 gauge wire.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
I have attached a link to an installation video for a brake controller along with a # ETBC7 you can check out. I have also attached links that explain brake controllers and their installation you may want to take a look at.
