Question:
I have a 2020 Montana 3121-RL, which currently has blue colored road armor equalizers. I’m replacing broken spring hangers and springs, so I’m going to replace the equalizers while I’m already in there. Are these black units the same as the blue ones that came on my trailer? Let me know ASAP so I can order them while they’re on sale. Thanks, John

Hey John! Yes, the black Lippert Road Armor # LC53CK is identical to the old blue model you have now. The dimensions are exactly the same so it will bolt right up and keep everything working as it has been. I went ahead and attached some photos below showing the dimensions for both.
How did the spring hangers break? You might want to consider adding the MORryde X-Factor # MR33WR while you're at it to help prevent that in the future.

Hi Robin, Thanks for the reply! Long story short, my passenger side rear spring hanger broke on the road returning from Florida to Michigan, stranding me for three days awaiting a mobile welder. After returning, the other rear hanger broke in the identical manner. Reason for failure is the high stress on the rear hangers, combined with the inadequate support. As you well know, Lippert now adds the strengthening brace inside the hangers in production. I’m now in the process of replacing both rear hangers, and adding the stiffening braces. I already bought new springs, 4 bronze bushings, hangers, 6 new wet bolts, and the angle braces. I’m working on this in my driveway, as I have welding capabilities. I will be adding a brace, either the Morryde, or a fabricated 2x2 steel tube, welded between the rear hangers. In addition to the new Road Armor pieces, I need the shackles to attach the springs, as my shackles show some wear. I’m trying to get the right shackles (3.125”), but can’t decipher the descriptions on your site for the kits. I prefer not to buy extra bushings and bolts that I don’t need, since the Road Armor parts have new bushings already. Can you help me pick out the parts I need? If you like, you can call me to discuss.
