Solution For Arctic Fox Truck-Bed Camper Tie-Downs And Anchor Points On Royal Contractor Flat Bed

Published 10/14/2026

Question:

Hello, I recently purcheased the swing out brackets for the my new to me cab over camper from trailer. I am mounting a 2004 Arctic Fox on a Royal 8 x 10 contractor bed. The bed is wood clad with metal joist running underneath. What turn buckle tie down attachment would you recommend. Given the location of the AF tie down hoops Im anticipating attaching to the perimenter of the bed which is metal. Thank you, I can send photos

Hey Paul,

First off, thanks for your repeat business!

For your 2004 Arctic Fox camper, I'd recommend the HappiJac Qwik-Load Turnbuckles # HJ34ZR, which are designed for flatbed campers and adjust from 16-1/2" to 23-1/2".

For attachment points, we have the etrailer Weld-On D-Ring # e33QV or Bolt-On D-Ring # e53QV. Either could potentially work with a custom installation, but you'll want to make sure they're secured to structural steel capable of handling the camper's weight and movement, rather than just the outer bed edging.

If you don't think this solution will work and I misunderstood, feel free to send pictures to the email you get this response from. But normally on a flat bed you will be looking at some custom fabrication either way, so those rings mentioned above should get the job done for you.
