How Does the Redarc Tow Pro Link Brake Controller # RED57AR Install
Updated 10/14/2026 | Published 10/12/2026 >
Question:
Where in the harness does this plug into? Is there an existing plug on my existing harness to fit this into before it gets to the pigtail or does this plug into the pigtail

Hey Chris, the Redarc Tow Pro Link brake controller part # RED57AR plugs inline with a factory 7-way. Basically all vehicles have the same 7-way connector style so this utilizes that so that it is very universal while also works really well! What are you planning on installing this in?

Kind of led down the path by eTrailer. My factory tow package ends in a flat 4 connector. ETrailer told me I would need their 4 to 7 universal conversion to use the Redarc Tow Pro Link, which ends in a pigtail. The Redarc is designed as a plug & play, so it needs a mating plug, which my car (and every car I've ever seen) does not have. So you would think you could just splice into Redarc's harness from the 7-way pigtail, but Redarc doesn't recommend it. Apparently they've never tested it that way - like that would be hard to do. Maybe all cars in Australia use Redarc's universal plug, and Redarc doesn't feel they need to offer another setup. So I'm just left wondering what to do.
