Replacing Mobile Home Axles With Trailer 6K Axles And 5 on 4-1/2" Hubs.

Question:

I’m replacing mobile home axles on my Hudson Brothers trailer 1984 year model. I’m looking at the 6K tandem axles with brakes 2 each. 95 inches hub to hub but my spring centers are only 78 1/4. Can I get an axle made with those spring centers thanks, Mike.

Hey Michael,

I see you already purchased the Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes - Easy Grease - 6 on 5-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 95" Long - 6,000 lbs # e35SR along with spring seats # TRSS300 and u-bolt kit # APUBR-8. This is the closest thing to your specs, but I'm sure you realized that the spring center on this axle is 80" while your spring centers are 78-1/2" apart. You'll need to cut off the spring centers and move them in a little to match the 78-1/2". Unfortunately we don't make custom axles, but some custom trailer shops do.

Aside from that, you'll be all set. Looks like you did a lot of research and found everything you need to convert that mobile home axle and hub setup to modern trailer setup, but I'm here if you need anything else in the future!
