Question:
I need to replace my existing Dometic 13500 BTU Prod 991762447, SKU 9108682507, LBL 3311983.000 unit on a 2003 Travel Lite 700 Mountain Star. I was wondering if you deal with Dometic A?C units? Questions i have about this unit are can i install this unit as a direct replacement? I have only 2inch roof thickness. Right now, this is my main concern. Can i put my present heat strip on this unit? Do i need to buy this complete kit or can i use my present controls? I would really like to get this unit as i want to sell my camper ASAP and nee the A/C. If this will not work please recommend a unit you sell that is low in price and will replace mine with no problems. Please respond ASAP as i Would like to order a replacement quickly and get the camper back together. Thank You

Thanks for the information Bob. The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System item # ADV77QR would indeed serve as a suitable replacement for your 13,500 btu Dometic Duo-Therm air conditioner. This system comes with a 13,500 btu AC unit and a compatible air distribution box that works in ducted orientations. It's also available in black item # ADV69QR. You will need to build a 1/2" wood spacer to mount on the interior of your Camper though. This system is designed to work with roofs 2-1/2" to 5-1/2" thick.
There's no way to just replace your old Dometic AC unit, you'll need to replace all your AC system components with the item # ADV77QR . This is due to the EPA changing the regulations on the refrigerant in the AC units at the beginning of 2025. They've been upgraded to R32 and your Dometic Duo-Therm has the now obsolete 410a refrigerant. None of the 410a components are compatible now with the newer systems like your older heat strip. However, you will be able to use the existing wiring in your Travel Lite 700 Mountain Star to connect and power the new item # ADV77QR AC system.
Please note that there is no wall mounted style thermostat available for the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System item # ADV77QR. The controls are built into the air distribution box.
If you would like a replacement 13,500 btu AC system with a thermostat, the GE Appliances Deluxe RV AC System w/ ADB & Thermostat item # GE92ZR is the least expensive option that includes one. It would not need a spacer as it fits roofs 2"–6" roof thick.
Are you getting out of the camping hobby altogether or are you just selling your Mountain Star camper? Feel free to answer this and throw in any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.

Just to be clear I can put this unit in my camper with a 1/2” spacer and use my existing power line to the unit and that will work ok? BTW .., no I am not getting out of camping just thinking of selling this and getting a toy hauler.
