Will the # TJB-2001S-B Trailer Jacks Support My Boat’s Gunnel Supports While Traveling?

Updated 09/18/2026 | Published 09/17/2026

Question:

Will the TJB-2001S-B jack withstand the fatigue and vibration of a 300 lb active load during trailering? I am using two of these to support a 600 lb boat hull. One on each side raising and lowering the gunnel support columns. I had planned to pin the support columns but if the jacks can hold the load ok I wont pin it.

Hello again Kelly,

Thanks for writing in!

The # TJB-2001S-B is definitely strong enough from a capacity standpoint. Each jack has a 2,000 lb lift capacity and a 3,000 lb support capacity, so supporting approximately 300 lbs per jack is well within its rating. It also has a deep-seated snap ring that provides additional side-load support.

Where I would be hesitant is leaving the jacks extended and loaded while trailering. I do not have a verified rating from RAM for using these as continuously loaded support columns while being subjected to road shock and vibration. Because of that, I would stick with your original plan of pinning the support columns so the jacks are not carrying that load while going down the road.

What body of water are you mostly getting out on? I have a little Ranger and am out all year long here in Missouri at Mark Twain Lake and Lake of the Ozarks chasing a 10 pound bass =)
