Which Thule GateMate Pro Tailgate Bike Rack for 2024 Toyota Tundra with Retrax Tonneau

Question:
I have the 2024 Tundra with a Retrax XR tonneau cover. As you know, those tonneau cover rails extends into the bed and over the tailgate a bit. I am measuring just under 59inch between the tonneau cover rails at the tailgate. My question is: am I better off buying the fullsize option, knowing I might need to trim the sides a bit? Or is it better to buy the compact? I want to be sure the hole in the back of the pad doesnt interfere with the back-up camera. I am only going to carry two bikes. Step through e-bikes 48lbs each. THANKS!

Hey Jeff, welcome back! Since you have a full size truck you would want the full size version of the Thule GateMate Pro which is the part # TH824PRO. This is overall 60 inches wide but it's a soft enough material that your available area of 59 inches would not be an issue at all. It would not negatively affect the rails of your tonneau cover and it would have the correct placement of the handle flap to allow your rear camera to work as well.
