Hi we have a blue ox set up for our jeep wrangler. We are purchasing a Chevy trax 2026 to flat tow on our new smaller rv. Can we use anything from our blue ox set up avail? Looks like we need the Roadmaster base plate, but can it be connected to the blue ox avail tow bar? Thanks

Great question, and congrats on the new RV setup!

For your 2026 Chevy Trax, the Roadmaster base plate kit # RM25EQ can be used with a Blue Ox tow bar, but it would require an adapter to connect the two different brands. The adapter you would need is # BX88185.

Since you already have a Blue Ox setup on your Wrangler, the easier option would be the Blue Ox base plate kit # BLU24UR. This is designed to work directly with your existing Blue Ox tow bar, so hookup will be more straightforward without needing any additional adapters.

Both of these base plates are for the non ACTIV models and will not fit models equipped with lower active grille shutters. You’ll want to double check whether your Trax is equipped with active grille shutters.
