Trouble With Removing Front Fascia From a 2024 Chevrolet Trax For Installing Base Plate
Updated 06/14/2024 | Published 06/07/2024 >
Question:
Hi, I am installing a BX1760 eTrailer BLU24UR on a 2024 Chevrolet Trax 2RS. Im following the Blue Ox instruction manual carefully. Im presently stuck at step 7. 1. I am unable to disconnect the electrical connected show in the step 7 inset. I have located it and have released the lock by sliding the red lock back but it will still not come apart. I assume I also need to press on the connector somewhere as I try, but havent been able to figure it out on my own. 2. Also, I tried to pull the fascia off, but it doesnt budge. I watched an etrailer video on installing a Blue Ox base plate on a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox looking for clues. They had to carefully pry off headlight trim, etc., before the fascia would come off. I assume I also have to do something similar, but I do not know specifically how to get it off without breaking something. 3. If you know of any videos, or of a service manual that would help guide me, I would appreciate it. Thanks, John

I wish we had a 2024 Chevrolet Trax in our shop to install a base plate like the Blue Ox # BLU24UR but as of 6/14/2024 we have not. For your first question the sliding red lock does unlock the connector but there is still a tab which holds the lock together. The red lock tab prevents the latch from unlocking unless it is released.
For the front fascia removal I am having a lot of trouble finding a list of specific steps or any videos. As this is such a new vehicle I cannot find any videos online either. It does likely have the tabs near the fenders and headlights as most new model vehicles have. You may be able to get some tips or a service manual from your local Chevy dealer.
