Hello Stephen, thanks for reaching out. Yes, there is a Blue Ox base plate available for the 2025 Chevy Trax. There are different part numbers depending if your vehicle has the ACTIV feature, so please choose from the following:
- Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BLU99HR (ACTIV models)
- Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BLU24UR (Excluding ACTIV models)
Are you needing the rest of the parts for your flat tow setup? If so, here is what I recommend:
- etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox and Curt Base Plates - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 6K lbs # e47ZR
- Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights - 7-Way to 6-Way Adapter Cord # RM38FR (or part # RM26FR if you have incandescent lights)
- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25
- Roadmaster Battery Disconnect for Towed Vehicle w/ Flat Tow Brake System - Gas Only # RM-766
- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional
# SM99251
You may also need a drop hitch like part # BLU28XR, and I do recommend getting a cover # e76FV and a lock # e98881 for your tow bar.
Please refer to your owners manual and make sure you follow all steps and instructions in the recreational towing section.
Is this your first time flat towing? Or have you done this before with a different vehicle?

Hi Jesse. Thanks so much for getting back to me. Yes this will be our first flat towing experience behind a Motorhome. The vehicle we will be buying is the trax 2rs. When we purchased the Motorhome, the owner gave us a blue ox towbar. I think that’s what it’s called. They no longer needed it. I just talked to someone about installing the base plate and they asked me if the bumper would need to be cut in order to do that. I actually had no idea. is that something you would know? If you have any recommendations for an installer, please let me know. I am in Downingtown PA. I will most likely have other questions for you, but for now I think that’s all.
