Should OEM Transmission Cooler of 2012 Honda Odysssey be Bypassed when Installing Derale

Question:
In the Honda Odyssey install video I noticed that the factory trans cooler was left unhooked when this aftermarket cooler was installed, is that recommended from Derale?

Hey Brandon, this is a great question but the short answer is it "depends". If you had an OEM transmission cooler that was bad and leaked you could just bypass it altogether with an aftermarket controller like the Derale # D13503 that you mentioned. I would say in general though it's best to run the fluid first through the OEM controller and then to the aftermarket one as this gives maximum cooling power. Is your current cooler still functional?

Our current cooler is still functional, I was just looking for some additional cooling for the transmission because we were going to tow our two Jetski with the van. Thank you for the reply ??
