2014 Toyota Tacoma Transmission Temperature Gauge Kit

Question:

First! I love your products and the site! I pull a 16ft 2,500lbs trailer with a 2014 Toyota Tacoma. I currently have no way of monitoring my transmission temperature, so Im not exactly sure if this model of transmission cooler is needed. My Tacoma has the 4.0 with the tow package, but Im already asking it to turn large tires with a 3in lift, and I live at 9,000ft with 12,000ft passes to go over. Is adding this cooler with the fan in place of the factory cooler needed to protect my transmission in your opinion? Thanks in advance

Hey Jay, thanks for reaching out!

Our transmission coolers are designed to help support a factory cooler as opposed to replacing it altogether, so you won't want to replace it. With that being said, I have a few different options you can look into.

You can never cool your transmission coolant too much so adding a cooler is still okay to do, and if you choose to go that route, I recommend using the Derale # D13502.

Then for a gauge (so you can keep tabs on the temperature) we have the Derale Remote Transmission Filter Kit w/ Temperature Gauge # D13091.

You can use the gauge kit either alone or with the aftermarket cooler so it all just depends on what you'd like to do!

Let me know if you have any other questions!
