Question:
I recently bought an aluminum car hauler trailer, 82 inches by 20ft with a dovetail with 10k towing capacity. It has a center mounted jack on the tongue. I would like to find something that would side mount, be safe for aluminum and be sturdy enough. I am also wondering about a safe tool/storage box that is safe to mount to the tongue for the aluminum. Last but not least, what spare tire mount would you recommend for the trailer? It does not have side rails but does have pockets for rails. I like the pocket rail holder design but am worried about the corrosion between the mount and the trailer. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Would love to finish getting my trailer equipped through your company! Thank you for your time!

Hi Tyler! We definitely have everything you are looking for!
For the jack, I recommend the etrailer Sidewind Trailer Jack - Swivel Bolt - 14" Lift - 2,000 lbs # e35YV. This can be used on aluminum trailers, is a side mounted jack, and should have enough capacity for your load. If you need something more heavy duty, we do also have the Patriot Hitches Square Trailer Jack - Drop Leg - Sidewind - 15" Lift - 7,000 lbs # PH66NR, but I think this one might be a bit overkill. Either way you go, both are painted steel, so there should be no problems with corrosion.
For a tool box, we have quite a few options. The etrailer Trailer Tool Box - A-Frame - Aluminum - 3.4 Cu Ft - 34" Long - Matte Black # e64VV and 6 Cu Ft # e44VV would be great options. Both are lockable and their prices are hard to beat. Neither include hardware, so that would need to be sourced locally, but they fit just about any A-Frame trailer. If I were installing a tool box, one of these would be what I would go with.
Lastly, I recommend something like the Demco Trailer Stake Pocket Spare Tire Mount with 4" Offset - Black # DM15884-76 for the carrier. This is painted steel (I don't think there are any aluminum spare tire carriers), so the chances of a reaction are low. You will want to make sure the paint stays in good condition though, but that shouldn't be too pig of an issue. This is also designed to fit in the fairly standard 2x4 stake pockets, but if you have a different size, just let me know and I can see if we have something that will fit better for you.
What are you going to be towing on your new car hauler?
