Troubleshooting 2018 Jayco Redhawk Pulling Right After Safe-T-Plus Steering Stabilizer Installation

Updated 08/05/2026 | Published 07/28/2026

Question:

I have installed a Safe T Plus steering stabilizer on my 2018 Jayco Redhawk on a Ford E450 chassis. The motor home now pulls to the right. What is the adjustment to stop the pulling? Thanks!

Hey Tom! If your motorhome pulls to the right after installing the Safe-T-Plus Steering Control # ST98MR, the unit likely just needs to be re-centered. Safe-T-Plus recommends making small adjustments to the tie rod bracket and then road testing the motorhome until it tracks straight. It usually only takes one or two adjustments to get it dialed in.

I installed this on my 32 class C motorhome. After installing it it took a few tries till I got it centered, then the first thing I noticed was how well the steering comes back to center. I had an alignment performed the next day Them we to a 250 mile trip mostly back roads, it seems better but still wonder's ( constantly back and forth with the steering wheel). Next trip was mostly hiway 75 mph seems to track fairly straight with little correction, however I still need to hang on and correct steering when rigs pass me. Better than stock, but not as good as advertised.
