Wiring Harness For Adding A 4-Flat To A 2007 Dodge Sprinter Without The Factory Towing Package

Updated 08/17/2026 | Published 07/13/2026

Question:

I need help understanding options for a 4 flat tow kit for 2007 Dodge Sprinter that has no factory tow wiring. I narrowed it down to a Draw Tite/Tekonsha 118650 Tow Harness T-Connector. However it seems that product is discontinued or out stock everywhere. Is there an alternative you can suggest?

Hi Paul!

I do have an option for you, but the Tekonsha 118650 you were looking for was the only plug and play option available for your 2007 Dodge Sprinter without the factory towing package across the manufacturers we carry. It may come back at some point, but their parent company (First Brands) is having some issues as of late (look them up online and you will see what I mean). This has made all of their parts nearly impossible to get ahold of at the moment, unfortunately. That said, you will need the following part to get you on your way:

Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236

Again, this would not be a plug an play harness and will require cutting and splicing, but it will get you on the road and it does look like the only option currently available. We haven't had the chance to install this on a Sprinter yet, but I did include a video we did with putting this on a Transit 350. It will be pretty similar to that. Just take your time and you can get it done.

Are you needing this for towing a trailer being your Sprinter or for lights on a rack?

Thanks for the detailed reply. The supply issue background information explains why I am not fidning anything plug and play. This will be for towing a UHaul. I will order the Curt C59236. Thanks again, Paul Spehar

Hi Lazer, I put the order in today for this C59236. Is it acceptable to use the snap lock connectors that come with the kit? Or are butt connectors with heat shrink advised? What gauge are these wires? Thanks Paul

@PaulS You can definitely use the quick splice/snap lock connectors as they are typically easier to use, but heat shrink butt connectors are better. At least in my opinion. They are water tight and I have seen a few issues with the quick splice things a few times (typically it just needed to be squeezed harder to make the connection, but it's still frustrating). If I were doing it, I would use butt connectors. The white (ground) and black (power) wires are both 12 gauge, but the rest of the wires are 18 gauge. We technically have the butt connectors for this, but a local hardware store will have them for less than we do. Let me know how the install goes! ^___^
