Will Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack Scrape Ground When Used in Class A

Updated 07/06/2026 | Published 06/26/2026

Question:

I have a Winnebago Class A, Via. Does this 4 bike Hollywood Destination Rack extend high enough so it doesnt scrape on the ground every time I pull in for fuel or in and out of driveways?

Hey John, the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack part # HR4000 has a rise of 3-3/4 inches built into the shank so that will help with ground clearance. It does extend out from the hitch it installs in 42 inches so you should consider that as well.

How close to the ground is your RV hitch?

The hitch does have a rise from the hitch as Jameson indicated. I tow a 37' 5th wheel and I have never had an issue with the ground clearance. It would take a very significant change in incline for the bike rack to make contact. The hitch on the back of the 5th wheel is approx. 24" off the ground.

@David thanks for sharing that! Yeah we haven't had any ground clearance issues with this rack.
