What Size Threads are Used on the Replacement Threaded Hitch Pin and Clip # P5902

Updated 06/25/2025 | Published 07/18/2014

Question:

I am looking for a longer pin. My 3/4 ton truck has a wider receiver than a normal 2, and the pin is short. How can I get or make a longer pin? I need to know the thread size, in order make or buy one.

I went out into our warehouse and measured the threads of the Replacement Threaded Hitch Pin and Clip # P5902 and found them to be 1/2 inch diameter coarse thread. The version of this bolt that is designed for 2 inch hitches is the Swagman Threaded Hitch Pin part # P5901. This will not fit on 1-1/4 inch shank Swagman racks with 2 inch adapter sleeves though.
