Question:

THE HITCH PIN BOLT HAS BROKEN ALREADY ON THIS BIKE RACK THAT I PURCHASED, HOW CAN I GET SOME REPLACEMENTS?? ID LIKE AT LEAST TO 3 HAVE ON HAND IN THE EVENT THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED WE WERE SETTING BIKE RACK IN HITCH TO HEAD BACK HOME WHILE ON VACATION. THE BOLT LITERALLY CRACKED WHILE TIGHTENING. THIS RACK WAS PURCHASED 11/21.

I do have a solution for you. The Replacement Threaded Hitch Pin and Clip for 1-1/4" Shanks on Swagman Bike Carriers, part # P5902, is the replacement bolt you need. The Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman Hitch Racks, part # S64029, is also a replacement bolt for this rack. This option also comes with a lock instead of the clip.

I did some research and your Swagman XC2 Bike Rack for 2 bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount, part # S64650, should still be under warranty. If you wanted to file a warranty claim you can contact Swagman directly.

Hitch pin bolt broke off while rack still on hitch. How do I remove the rack? Tried drill extractor to get bolt out, but no luck.

@DonL That is a bummer. I don't have an easy solution for you but I would try drilling bigger and bigger holes using reverse threaded drill bits to see if you can get it to release. I've never had luck with ez out extractors either.

@JamesonC Thanks! Used the biggest one in the set. Will try sawing off free end and trying to remove rack. Wish me luck

@DonL Good luck! It can be a major pain dealing with broken bolts but a saw usually does the trick lol. I've seen some people weld like bolt heads to the base of broken bolts too and then use wrench to get them off but that might be a little excessive unless you have a welder.
