Lock for Demco Cast Head Coupler And Safety Chains

Updated 06/28/2026 | Published 06/23/2026

Question:

I purchased this Demco Cast Head Coupler w/ Jack Hole - eZ-Latch - 2 Ball - A-Frame - Bolt-On - 10K. Do you have a lock that covers it and the chains?

Hi Kathy; we do have locks like the InfiniteRule Lock for Cast Demco eZ-Latch Trailer Couplers # IR66FR or ICON # AL78DQ for your # DM37ZR. However, there are no locks that cover both the coupler and safety chains. If you're wanting to leave them on the trailer while it is sitting/stored, I would wrap the chains around the tongue and secure them with a simple padlock like # ML1KA.

What kind of trailer do you have?

I bought one. It works great!

The Infinite Rule lock works pretty well, but two minor observations 1) the 1/4 inch pin could be larger diameter, and 2) key chains with multiple keys make it cumbersome to use, a single key is easier to operate. A quarter or half turn tumbler lock would be better than a full multi-turn thread.

I bought this lock for my Demco cast hitch as nothing I had “on the shelf” would work. I could not be happier or more satisfied with the quality and the functionality of this lock. Yes, I would unabashedly recommend this lock. And, while I’m at it, I would be remiss if I didn’t give eTrailer a duff of my hat, as well. I don’t “shop it around” anymore- eTrailer has become my go to for anything I need with regard to my trailer. Hope this helps.

Hi Kathy, I agree with Dave about the key. I have a key for the Infinite Rule lock attached to my tow vehicle key and it is some what difficult to turn and turn the Infinite Rule lock. I us the other single key that came with the Infinite Rule lock and it is less frustrating to turn. Other than that it's a very good lock and the lock fits the Demco Cast Head Coupler very will.
