Looking For Replacement Inner Slide Channel for Dexter Model 6 Actuator With Only A Down Channel

Updated 07/24/2026 | Published 06/21/2026

Question:

I know that the DA91 inner slide is not the same dimension as the Dexter Model 6 but do you know if there is a replacement inner slide that is made with only a down channel like the DM12808-97. I need more of a than just a few inches and am trying to eliminate as much as I can for hitch riser height. I have an M1102 trailer and am looking for 6 inches of from the tongue with an adjustable lunette ring. Is T4846500183 the only option that exists for this solution?

Hey Michael, thanks for reaching out. Yes, the Replacement Inner Slide # T4846500183 is the only inner slide we carry for the Dexter Model 6 actuator. Unfortunately, we do not have an alternative Model 6 inner slide that is built with only a down-channel design like the # DM12808-97, and I'm not aware of Dexter offering one either.

If your goal is to gain additional drop and reduce the amount of hitch rise needed on your M1102 trailer, the #T4846500183 is really the only direct replacement option available for the Model 6 actuator. At that point, any additional height correction would likely need to come from changes to the lunette ring setup, coupler height, trailer ride height, or the tow vehicle side of the equation rather than a different inner slide.

Michael, I had posted the exact same question months ago. I've got the M1102 and was using the same pintle hook mount upside down(against manufactures recommendations). I ended up buying the T4846500183 and considered cutting and rewelding to get the needed drop. I decided that might affect the forces applied to the surge brake and reduce braking, so I went in a different direction. I got a set of 16" wheels with smaller tires. The smaller tires give me a 2" drop and with the T4846500183, I dropped down to a smaller pintle hook mount. The smaller wheels drop the tailgate height and are also much easier to manage. The stock wheels are monsters! I got GMC/Chevy rims, but there are Dodge and Ford rims that fit as well. The main thing to look for is 8x6.5" bolt pattern.
