Thanks for all the information Charles! To flat tow your 2023 Ford Maverick, I recommend the following parts:

Tow Bar, Safety Chains, and 7-Way to 6-Way Cable - Roadmaster Nighthawk All-Terrain Tow Bar item # RM-676

Base Plate Kit - Roadmaster Direct Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms item # RM97RR

Protective Screen - Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screen for Towed Vehicles item # RM-4750

Wiring and Diodes - Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit item # RM-152. Everything else comes with the item # RM-676 tow bar.

Supplemental Braking System - Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes and Wireless Coach Link Braking Monitor item # DM86VR

Charge Line - Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Line Kit for Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking Systems item # DM66VR. Please note it only works with Demco Braking Systems.

High Low Adapter - etrailer High-Low Fixed Adapter for Tow Bars item # e25ZV

I attached a couple of pictures below so you can see what the Roadmaster Direct Connect Base Plate Kit item # RM97RR looks like installed. I also linked quite a few installation videos so you can see how these parts get set up on your Maverick and how they'll look after they get installed.

Bought the Roadmaster nighthawk and have not regretted. Only issues I’ve had are squeaking(solved by a few drops of oil) and tight fit of 7-way coupler( again solved with WD-40). Very easy and quick setup and take down.

I bought the Nighthawk tow bar, the full Demco Brake setup, lighting cable/diode kit, vehicle kit for our Jeep Wrangler, everything recommended by eTrailer setup personnel. I had it all installed by a local Jeep specialist. I must say this is a complete hookup package designed by eTrailer personnel and it has worked flawlessly. These people are professionals that really know their business and I don’t believe will guide you wrong. I have had a couple of problems that eTrailer has helped me solve quickly and get me supply parts. First of all, I did not get my air line fully latched when hooking up once and the end of the air hose drug on the road one day. Needless to say it destroyed the end and I had to order a replacement. ETrailer got me one shipped out quickly. The brake/light cord gave me problems after a couple of years I ordered another one from retailer that I installed and have had no further problems. I can say nothing but good things about eTrailer and the expert advice they give. Everyone I have ever talked to has been knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks for all your help. Dan

I bought the Roadmaster Nighthawk a few years ago. Pulling a JKU behind a Fleetwood Expedition. I love the Nighthawk. Very quick and simple operation. One man operation once you get used to it. Other than my rear camera, I can't even tell that the Jeep is back there. I wouldn't even try another brand.

We bought the Roadmaster Nighthawk for our 2006 Jeep wrangler and it works very well. The side lights are helpful at night too, and I believe they turn red from amber when the brakes are applied. Easy to connect and disconnect, just the 2 pins, safety cables, power cable, and safety disconnect plug. We also use the Demco Stay-n-Play. Just make sure you follow the setup process, then monitor it from the wireless coach monitor you selected paying close attention when first driving each day to ensure it activates when braking.

We’ve had the Roadmaster Nighthawk setup now for almost a year. I tow a Honda CRV behind our 24 ft Holiday Rambler (Mercedes Sprinter chassis). I don’t think the tow bar could’ve been made any easier to use. I don’t have any experience with another brand but I think it’d be hard to beat Roadmaster.
