Hello, Im trying to find a coupler for my boat trailer and having trouble with dimensions. My trailer tongue has a true 3 inside channel measurement that would accept a straight tongue, or I need a top bolt-on style that would fit the outside tongue dimension of 3.5. It is a call IV coupler with a 2 ball. Any help is appreciated. I have photos as well if thats helpful. Thank you

Hey Patrick. We get these questions quite a bit and it's typically a TDE Model LP7000 actuator. So, I am going to answer your question based on that. I would love to take a look at any pictures you have. You can send them directly to the email address you receive this response from.
As far as a actuator replacement goes, that's going to require some modifications of your tongue. There's no replacement actuator that's going to slide into the 3"-3-1/8" wide hollow space your actuator sits in. What you'll need to do is cut off your tongue and weld on a standard size 3" trailer tongue. I know this is not ideal but there's no other option with the lack of replacement parts.
Once you modify your tongue you can install the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Surge Brake Actuator item # DX83FR. This is a bolt on drum brake actuator that is going to install and sit flush with a 3" wide trailer tongue. It'll be the closest comparable height and capacity setup to what you have now. It has a 2" coupler and has a 7,500 lbs capacity. To add an electric lockout you'll need the item # T4748800.
For disc brakes you'll need the Dexter item # DX89FR, which comes with the electric lockout.
