Replacement Gooseneck Pin Box for a Stock Lippert Pin Box

Updated 06/18/2026 | Published 06/11/2026

Question:

I’m looking at swapping to a gooseneck style hitch. I have a 2015 Keystone Montana 305RL. I don’t see any markings on the Lippert pin box I just wanting to verify this is the right hitch for my rv. Thanks

Hey Max. There's no database that shows me what pin box is on your Montana 305RL and Keystone doesn't list that information either. I'll need the information on the sticker that's attached to the brackets above your current pin box to identify the bolt pattern. It'll look like the picture attached below.

The sticker should say date of manufacture, weight capacity, and have some form of RPO, LCI, or serial number on it. If you could email me a picture of it or carefully put all that information where it says Add Comment, I can find the right gooseneck pin box for you.

You can add this information and any other questions you have where it says Add Comment and I'll be happy to answer them. If you're emailing me a picture go ahead and send it directly to the address you receive this response from.

I got this safety chain and I am very pleased with the manufacturing and the the hooks. I have the GenY Executive and pull a 24 Alliance Avenue DBL. The strength of the chain is compliant, it still looks pretty good after 2 seasons of RV Travel. I would buy it again when the need arises.

Thanks for the pics Max. I just heard back from Lippert and your 2015 Keystone Montana 305RL has an 1116 pin box. You'll need the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box item # GY48FR to replace it. You'll also need the Safety Chain with 2 Hooks item # GY49GR.
