Hi Ryan,

We no longer offer the Dometic Blizzard as it has been replaced by the FreshJet3 series of air conditioners. If your Dometic Blizzard was manufactured before 2024 there is no exact replacement for it and a whole new system will be needed. A law was passed in 2024 that mandated a change in refrigerant used in air conditioners. Due to the new refrigerant needing more safety measures to remain stable, the wiring in the control boxes as well as the plugs were changed to ensure that units prior to 2024 could not be connected to units with the new refrigerant R32.

For a replacement system for your Dometic Blizzard, I recommend using the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner - Multi Zone - 15K - Black part # FR45TD. It has dual motors that move cold air quickly to lower the temperature and has a built-in start capacitor to help start the AC if voltage is low or you're running it off a generator. The thermostat comes with this kit and allows for a furnace to be wired in as well if you have one. This unit is also available in white if you'd prefer, that is part # FR73TD.

What kind of climate are you usually camping in?

I replaced the Dometic on my Jayco 26BH, with an Advent Air from Etrailer. Upsized also to 15,000 BTU. Helps in Texas summers. Nervous that it would be plug and play. Etrailer promised it would be and it was perfect. Hardest part of the install was getting old unit off the roof and the new one up there. I did a little extra insulation and blocking of the return air to help separation and run quieter. (Aluminum covered foam with spray adhesive) A bit about Etrailer: The unit I originally ordered had a bit of damage and the cover was cracked. I was frustrated - emailed some pics of the damage to Etrailer -- was stunned to get an actual call in minutes. Said don't install - we are shipping you another unit. Got it in 2 days. They paid for picking the old one up and shipping it back. They followed up a couple of times to see that I received it - both phone calls and emails. I was / still am very pleased with their service and the product... and the price! Mike

@MikeC I'm sorry that first unit showed up to you damaged, shipping is not always the gentlest on things, but I'm glad we were able to get it sorted out quickly for you. I hope your new air conditioner is serving you well!
