  • 5th Wheel Trailer to Gooseneck Hitch
  • Bolts Over King Pin
  • Andersen
  • Not Shock Absorbing
  • Adapts Trailer
  • 24000 lbs GTW
  • No Extra Clearance

Don't say goodbye to your truck bed. Instead, say hello to the Ranch Hitch fifth-wheel-to-gooseneck coupler adapter. It offers 24,000 lbs towing capacity with 3" vertical adjustment for towing a fifth-wheel trailer with a gooseneck hitch.

Features:

  • Heavy-duty adapter converts 5th-wheel trailer king pin to gooseneck coupler
    • Conveniently allows 5th-wheel camping trailer to be towed with a gooseneck hitch
  • Remote coupler release lets you engage and release coupler while standing alongside your truck
    • Eliminates climbing in and out of truck bed
  • 3" Vertical adjustment allows towing with multiple vehicles
  • Do-it-yourself installation in less than 1 hour
  • Works with standard 2-5/16" diameter gooseneck hitch balls
  • V-19 Certification
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Application:
    • Standard 2-5/16" gooseneck hitch balls
    • Measurement from bottom of the king-pin plate to top of the hitch ball when trailer and truck are level: 11-3/4" (when adapter is collapsed) to 14-3/4" (when adapter is extended)
    • Required clearance between the overhang of the trailer and the top of the siderails of your truck for safe operation: 5" or 6"
    • Trailers with standard or extended pin box
      • Extended pin box can be no longer than 24" (measured diagonally)
  • Capacity: 24,000 lbs GTW, 6,000 lbs TW
  • Vertical adjustment: 3"
  • Hardware included
    • Optional slide hammer used to ease installation (AM3103) sold separately
  • Safety chains sold separately
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Notes:

  • This adapter is designed to be used with standard pin boxes only. Do not use with a cushioned or air ride pin box.
  • Any adapter that attaches in this way may void your trailer's warranty.
  • A pin box adapter (MR37ZR) is required if installing on a MORryde pin box.

V-19 Certified for safety and featuring exceptional strength and versatility, this universal adapter converts a fifth-wheel king pin to a gooseneck coupler. This allows you to tow your fifth-wheel trailer without a bulky fifth-wheel hitch. The Ranch Hitch from Andersen Manufacturing is easy to install, even for the inexperienced do-it-yourselfer.

Measuring Your Truck and Trailer for the Ranch Hitch Coupler Adapter

You can perform these steps to determine if the adapter will work for your fifth-wheel trailer.

  1. Back your truck into position as if you were hooking up your fifth-wheel trailer, making sure that the truck and trailer are level.
  2. Measure from the pin plate (the bottom of the pin box) down to the top of the ball in the bed of your truck.
  3. The measurement should fall between 11-3/4" and 14-3/4". (The adapter is 11-3/4" tall when fully compressed and 14-3/4" tall when fully extended.)

Additional Measurements

Five or six inches of clearance between the overhang of the trailer and siderails of your truck is necessary for safe operation.

Diagram of pin box showing where to measure length

Measuring for Pin Box Length

The Ranch Hitch adapter is designed for trailers with a standard or extended pin box up to 24" long (measured diagonally). To find this dimension, you should measure from the centerline of the bottom of the king pin into the back of the pin box as far as you can reach. You may not be able to reach the very back of the pin box itself because the top of it may extend into the trailer. In this case measure to where the pin box disappears into the trailer.

  • Recommended Clearance Dimensions Between Truck Bed Rails and 5th Wheel Trailer
If you take a look at the linked diagram you can see the minimum recommended clearance distances between truck and trailer for 5th wheel towing. It is recommended to have at least 5-inches from the top of the bed rails to the bottom of the trailer overhang. If you are intending to modify your truck by having its bed rails partially cut out you'll have to determine how much needs to be cut out based on the height of your trailer when level. If you're going to lower the trailer for reduced...

  • Will My B&W Companion Hitch Work In My New Chevy 3500?
That completely depends on what style of Companion hitch you have. If your Companion hitch was made for the 2020-2024 GMC/Chevy puck system such as the # BWRVK3710, you can easily transfer it to the new Chevy 3500, provided the truck has the OEM fifth wheel puck system (not just the gooseneck). If your companion hitch was made to be used with the B&W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch, like part # BWRVK3500-5W, it can only be used with the B&W Turnoverball hitch and it will not work with the...

Since there isn't a latch on top of the ball of the # BWGNXA2061 you can use it with a fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter like the Andersen Ranch Hitch # AM3100 that you referenced. The other similar options that have the release lever on top of the ball can not be used with the Ranch Hitch.

  • How To Tow A 2016 Voltage M-3818 With A Gooseneck Hitch
I have a few options that will allow you to tow your 2016 Voltage M-3818 with a gooseneck hitch. In order to do this, you can either install a new pin box designed for gooseneck towing or you can use an adapter bar like the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter part # AM3100. • Recommended Front Suspension Enhancement to Reduce Bounce and Hop on 1976 Ford F-250 4x4
It sounds like the additional weight on the front of your truck when decelerating is an issue. It sounds like the rear of your truck has the additional support but the front of your truck would benefit from suspension enhancement. I recommend the Timbren Front Suspension Enhancement System # TFF2504 which is the only fit we have for your 1976 Ford F-250 4x4. This will help absorb road shock and improve the stability of your truck.

  • Recommended 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter for 2018 Ram 3500
The reason the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G is not recommended for use with factory-installed gooseneck prep packages on Fords from 2011-present and Ram from 2013-present is because they use a gooseneck ball that has a plastic handle on top (see photo) that folds into the hitch ball and the Convert-A-Ball # CAB-C5G has a nut on the inside that will damage the gooseneck ball. For that reason, if you wanted to use the Convert-A-Ball on your 2018 Ram 3500...

  • Is Offset Ranch Hitch 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter Needed For Short Bed Truck
The offset Ranch Hitch adapter is needed for trucks with a bed that is less than 8 feet long. You will need as much clearance as possible with a short bed truck, and without the 8" offset you'll be very limited in how much you can turn. So a short bed will need the offset adapter, which is the following part number: - Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter w/ 8" Offset # AM3139 In order to make the installation of the # AM3139 much easier, it is recommended to use...

This attaches in a similar way to the Ranch hitch you were looking at, but there are no recommended limits for the length of the pin box when using the Convert-a-ball adapter. So it will be perfect for your 30" long pin box. The Convert-a-ball adapter # CAB-C5G has a towing capacity of 20,000 lbs and a pin weight capacity of 4,000 lbs.
