When you’re running a flatbed setup, a standard fifth wheel hitch can sit too high or interfere with your bed layout. This hitch has a lowered base designed specifically for flatbeds, giving you the right height and a clean fit. It connects directly to your 2-5/16" gooseneck ball so you can tow your fifth wheel without bulky rails or extra hardware in the way.
Tired of wrestling with heavy hitch parts? The aluminum base on this system weighs only 35 lbs, so it’s easy to install and remove by yourself. Drop it in when you’re ready to tow and pull it out when you’re done—no hoist or helper needed. When the hitch is out, your truck bed stays completely clear and open for work or gear.
This setup may be light, but it’s got serious muscle. With a 24,000-lb gross towing weight and 4,500-lb vertical load limit, it’s built to handle large trailers with confidence. Whether you’re hauling equipment or a fully loaded fifth wheel, the connection stays solid through the trip.
Getting the perfect trailer level matters for safe towing. This hitch gives you two height positions—15-9/16" and 13-9/16"—so you can match your trailer setup without guesswork. The simple adjustment helps keep your load stable and evenly balanced every time you hook up.
You don’t need to climb into your bed to secure the coupler anymore. The remote latch cable lets you lock and unlock the connection from the side of your truck, keeping things quick and easy when hitching or unhitching. It’s a simple feature that makes towing feel a lot more convenient.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this, Andersen lowered for flatbed, ultimate connection fifth wheel trailer hitch system. Now this has been engineered to sit about four inches lower than standard models, perfectly aligning with flatbed trucks. Now this is lightweight, but it's very strong. This is made of aircraft grade aluminum and it weighs about 35 pounds, which is significantly lighter than traditional steel fifth wheel hitches that can weigh a hundred pounds or more.
I was able to unbox this and get this up on my table all by myself, and I'm not necessarily the strongest guy round. So it's very lightweight, it's very manageable, but despite being light, this is rated to tow up to 24,000 pounds gross towing weight and also the tongue weight or the vertical low limit of 4,500 pounds. So the idea here is one person can install and remove this in basically less than five minutes. It's just going to drop onto your two and five 16ths inch gooseneck ball and it's going to secure with a pin and clip. So there's not gonna be any need to install a heavy fifth wheel hitch rail system.
So this is gonna save you time, money, and truck bed space. Now you can use the Andersen ultimate connection adapter for factory gooseneck hitches with pop-in balls identified by that model number that you see there on your screen for installation, if you do have a factory installed hitch with a pop-in ball. So if you do have a factory installed hitch with a pop-in ball, you're also going to need that adapter. You can just take that model number and pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to that adapter and you can add that to your order.
But going back out to my wide view here real quick, you can see right here where this is going to drop onto your two and five 16ths inch ball. And then it's just going to pin and clip, just like that. So it's gonna be a very easy install. Now the funnel here on the kingpin coupler block is going to give you a four inch offset, eliminating the hassle, perfectly lining up the ball with the kingpin. So this is going to be helpful, especially if you're towing with a, maybe like a short bed truck where clearance between the cab and the trailer during sharp turns, can be kind of tight.
This also features Andersen's remote latching system. So that's going to able a quick hitching and unhitching without climbing onto the truck bed. So I'm gonna go ahead and pull that, and then that's going to unlock this and allow me to easily uncouple, just like that. And you can see the funnel there at the base. And then when I couple, I can then just push this back in. That's going to secure it as you can see. And then I'm just going to give it a twist just like that. And then that's going to lock that into place. So I won't be able to accidentally uncouple, but then when I turn it the other way, then that's going to allow me then to disconnect just like that, or uncouple rather, just like that. So very easy to use. And then you're just going to use this bracket to mount it somewhere on your trailer for easy access so you don't have to climb into your bed every time. So this is included, it's gonna be very easy to get this coupled and uncoupled. I'm just gonna lay this to the side here real quick. I did want to show you that you do have two height adjustments from 15 and nine 16ths inches down to 13 and nine 16ths inches. So I do have this on the lower setting. Let me just go ahead and show you how easy this is going to be to adjust. So I'm gonna pull this clip out, pull this pin out, and then just raise that ball up to the higher position. So again, two adjustment positions. Replace the pin and clip, and then that's gonna be just how easy this is gonna be. So you're gonna be able to get that level ride that you're looking for, and that's gonna be crucial for proper weight distribution and safe towing, and of course help accommodate different truck bed heights. So that's gonna reduce the stress on both your truck suspension and your trailer's frame. Now one other recommendation that I wanted to make is this does not include safety chains. So if you are also in need of safety chains, Andersen does have their ultimate safety chain kit with clevis hooks, and I'm popping up the item number there for those chains and if you need those. And those are typically required by law. So if you don't have those, Andersen does make those chains that will work with this. So this is a great lightweight option, especially if you trailer solo quite a bit, this is something that you're gonna be able to easily handle by yourself. If you do pick this up, we would love to hear back from you, regarding your experience with using this and you can share your experiences with us by dropping a comment or leaving a review on this product page. And if you happen to have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We wanna be sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. But I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Super Fast Shipping!
Shipped quick on time packaged good
Just received my anderson goosneck 5th wheel hitch and installed right away. Material is made of superior craftsmanship and will be looking forward to not lifting my heavy husky anymore. 5 star all the way
Simple an easy but product showed up with labels off or coming off
This was an excellent choice for stable, reliable and ease of use hitch. Very easy to hook up in many directions. Would recommended this hitch.
Shipping was super quick and items were exactly what i wanted and ordered
Working perfectly with over 500 miles into our first trip with it installed. Incredibly lightweight and well made. So far I’m very happy with it. I’d give the product 4.5 stars for overall build quality and design. I’m disappointed with etrailer delivery though. I ordered from etrailer because delivery was originally scheduled for the upcoming Saturday which was perfect. I even paid a little more buying from them because of this fact rather than use the manufacturer who was actually having a 10% sale. However 2 days after ordering from etrailer the delivery date unexpectedly changed for both parts ordered and was now going to be 4 days later than anticipated. I could have saved 10% to get the same later delivery time from Andersen. This delay caused unnecessary stress and created logistical headaches for me getting it installed. Sure UPS is unreliable, but when I called etrailer to inquire about the delays I didn’t get much of an explanation for this delay. It did finally arrive 4 days late with a damaged exterior box, but luckily the hitch was mostly fine with just a couple scrapes and two of the base foot pads knocked off.
Never wanted 5th wheel because of losing truck bed space with regular hitch. This is great, pulls like a dream, light weight, removes quick for storage-40lbs., 2018 Bighorn 35’ 5th.
The hitch is light weight and installed easily. It looks to be of high quality, however I reserve the 5 stars until after I have actually towed with it.
I had reservations about using the Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch, most of the reviews (that I researched) were negative but I decided to try the product for myself. I have a 2016 Titan XD SV (gas) model with a 6.5 truck bed and a 2017 Springdale fifth wheel (253FWRE). I can say without a doubt that the Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch works! I have backed up and jack knifed between 70 and 75 degree angle and had about a foot and a half clearance from my truck cab and fifth wheel. Super easy to install, I did the work myself, the key is to purchase a torque wrench with correct socket and hex key socket. What I believe help make this hitch a success is the offset from hitchball on the Andersen unit (3") and the offset from the gooseneck adapter I believe it is also (3"). Additionally my fifth wheel has a sculpted nose, all of the negative reviews that some say about the Andersen fifth wheel hitch, they fail to mention that they are using an older fifth wheel model that has a flat nose. You may run into issue if you have and older model fifth wheel and a shorter bed than 6.5. Bottom line I have been extremely pleased with my purchase of the Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch and would recommend this product to anyone that wants the easy set up and connection.
We've traveled cross country, twice, and over 10,000 miles towing and this has been the best hitch we've had yet. The roads aren't smooth and the 16,000 lb of our fifth wheel has ridden smooth and without chucking/bumping. We have the steel version and very glad we decided to purchase this hitch instead of the typical saddle type 5th wheel hitch we've used before. The captured photo attached is from our rear dash cam while transporting.
Buying and installing the AM3200 filth wheel hitch was one of the best thing I Have done . It has made trailering a lot more comfortable driving , very little bucking when going over bridge expansion joints and bumps in the highways. I have a few problems hooking-up with the type of trailer hitch I
Have on my 5th wheel and I also have air ride on my TV. When hooking up I
Let all the air pressure off my air ride system and off the hitch. Before I disconnect (raise the trailer) I put on a ratchet strap to hold the hitch from dropping down, It sounds like a lot of work but it will have. To do till I come up with a better plan. I would not go back to my other hitch, you have to excuse the pics hard to pick
Well engineered with strong welds and nice machining. Love the light weight.
This is hard to rate. It hits 10/10 in many areas - light weight, easy hitching & unhitching, quiet while towing, good truck cab clearance. But I'm not thrilled with the basic design putting so much force on the bed of the truck, having just a single point of attachment, needing a torque wrench to put it in and out. If it fit my OEM puck system with quick disconnects it would have been better.
Works well on my 2017 GMC 2500 with the 6 foot bed was able to push the camper back 8 inches very satisfied
After receiving the kit i saw another one on the shelf at a local store. I noticed the one on the shelf had a steel ball cup mounted to it. Mine did not have that part. I called andersen and asked if the ball cup was available for purchase seperately. They told me no need to purchase bevause they will ship me one for free! Later on, i towed my trailer to a camp site and upon arrival i could not get the release pin to open to drop the trailer while we stayed in it. I called andersen and described the problem i had, they shipped a whole new block and cable assembly for free!! I am ver pleased with the product and also impressed with the level of customer service!
Yes the product is all that and the bag of chips it says Pulling a Jayco seismic 395. no bed noise, connection feels secure. 3k miles pulled so far. if you have a 5th wheel convert to this asap its lite the trailer drops on to it like a bumper pull. I would recommend and purchase again.
We have the Anderson Hitch installed on our 2017 Ford SuperDuty and pull a Reflection 337RLS. We have traveled over 4,000 miles and have been extremely satisfied. The hitch allows plenty of clearance between 5th wheel, bed, and the truck cab. Hook-up and disconnect has always been easy, even with RV lots that were uneven dirt lots. I use Curt thin rubber sound dampeners (item 16900) and this provides a quiet, tight fit between the rails and hitch. Of course the light weight makes it easy to remove when not towing and less weight when you are towing. A great product for the right truck, trailer combination.
Beautiful Hitch, easy set up. The Ball and Pin adapter was securely attached to the frame(good job Andersen), but the Ultimate Connection Adapter was not, hence it was bouncing around inside the box and everyone knows UPS is rough on customers packages. Adapter could easily have been secured to the hitch frame!! Overall, love the quality. Will not get to use the hitch for several more day's, we will be trading in our current travel trailer for a 5th wheel at the dealership.
Hitch is light for removal purposes however there are some down sides.
Having to raise camper to almost full extension to hook and unhook is a drawback. There is still plenty of jerking motion while pulling our 29' fifth wheel camper with our 2020 GMC DENALI 2500 Diesel.
I use the product to tow a 40 foot fifth wheel trailer. I really like how light the unit is when I want to remove the hitch and get my PU bed back. I am also happy with the way the hitch works and how easy it is to hook up. I also have a short bed truck, but the hitch allows for some pretty tight turns, though you have to be aware of the potential to hit the cab with you trailer.
My Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel Hitch Toolbox Version is awesome as advertised. The toolbox version accommodates my auxiliary fuel tank. No effort at all to install the hitch and take it out. I hang it on the wall in the shop when not towing. We've towed the 5th wheel over 1500 miles in the last month and I have no complaints.
A great decision to go with Andersen. Couldn't be happier!
Shipping was fast ordering was easy. Kelly was extremely helpful to get my order placed. Super easy to install, picked up a 5th wheel and drove 550 miles with no issues.
Condition: Surface Scratches
Notes: Some minor scratches and gouges, otherwise in like new condition with all hardware.
