Can Firestone Air Bags For 2018 Ram 3500 Use Different Alignment Holes On Different Sides

Updated 06/05/2026 | Published 05/29/2026

Question:

I purchased this kit and installed. Do the airbags need to be in the same hole on the top bracket on both sides? I currently have them both in the rear hole but the drivers side would be more vertical if I installed it in the front hole. The passengers side is as vertical as possible in the rear hole. Can each side be in different holes in the top bracket?

Hey Josh! Yes, you can use the front alignment hole on one side and the back on the other when installing the # F37XV. The important part is getting the best vertical alignment. It isn't such a drastic difference in positioning that it will throw anything off with the air bags or suspension.

What are you towing/hauling with your Ram?

Fifth wheel camper. If the bag is perpendicular to the ground, the bottom bag plate has a slight angle and the top bag plate is horizontal in reference to the ground. If I make the top and bottom bag plates parallel to each other, the bag has a very slight lean forward.
