Jeff, the closest match we have to the specifications you listed is the Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler part # CT-3001-Z.

It fits a 2 inch trailer ball, mounts to a 2 inch wide channel tongue, and is rated for 3,500 lbs gross trailer weight. The mounting holes are spaced 3-1/16 inches on center, which is very close to the 3 inch spacing you mentioned.

The only thing I would want you to double check is the exact hole spacing on your trailer tongue. Since this coupler uses a 3-1/16 inch bolt pattern, you may need to drill new mounting holes if your current coupler is exactly 3 inches on center. I know that is not always ideal when you are hoping for a direct replacement, but I wanted to mention it up front so there are no surprises during installation.

What are you hauling?

I’m restoring a1946Tourette teardrop camper, this is the only coupler I could find for a 2” ball that fits on a 2” channel! Had to drill some holes, but works perfect!!

@Mark Thanks for sharing that, Mark! I looked up a few photos of the 1946 Tourette teardrop campers, and those are really cool-looking trailers. It's always great to see classic campers being restored and kept on the road. Just out of curiosity, where do you like to take your teardrop camper? I'd love to hear a little more about the restoration and where your adventures have taken you. Thanks again for sharing your experience!

used the e trailer straight couple to upgrade a walmart trailer,,,, the coupler was simple and sturdy and oversized the drilled holes to the next bolt size,,,,,, getting the old coupler off was the real challenge !
