eZ-Latch Coupler

This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the contoured handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.

  • Trailer Coupler Needed To Convert To Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
Hey Kelvin, From what I can find the Titan Model 6 brake actuators have their bolt holes almost in a straight line at the bottom of the coupler so you would have drill new holes in order to mount a new brake actuator. It also shows the Model 6 having a 2-5/16" ball coupler so the Demco # DM62VR and Dexter # 099-175-20 wouldn't be the right choice. If you're wanting to switch to electric over hydraulic then you'll want to go with a standard coupler like the Demco Channel Tongue Trailer...

  • Replacement Coupler For Boat Trailer Bolt On Surge Coupler Switched to Electric Actuated Brakes
Thank you for the image. It appears you will need either the Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # DM13203-95 or # DM16080-95. Both of these couplers have a zinc coating for increased corrosion resistance and fit on a standard 3" wide channel tongue. The Coupler # DM13203-95 has the bolt holes spread 5" on center and 0.85" from the top of the coupler. The Coupler # DM16080-95 also has the bolt holes spread 5" on center but they sit lower at 1-1/4" below the top of the coupler. If...

  • Replacement Latch for Fulton 14K Straight Tongue Coupler or Replacement Coupler
We don't have a confirmed fit for your Fulton Coupler for a repair kit. The Latch Repair Kit # F670801 is the closest option we have and hasn't been tested with straight couplers so I can't confirm it will work. I recommend instead for a confirmed fit replacing your coupler with the Buyers Products Straight Tongue Trailer Coupler - Auto Latch - 2-5/16" Ball - Bolt On - 15K # 3370091562 which is the closest to your 14K or the Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - Zinc - 2-5/16" Ball...

  • What is Difference Between Demco Couplers # DM13203-95 # DM13203-52
The difference is the finish of the two couplers. The Demco coupler part # DM13203-95 is a galvanized metal finish which is basically a zinc coating and the # DM13203-52 on the other hand is a silver powdercoat finish which is basically like a really durable paint.

  • Straight Channel Trailer Coupler for 2-5/16-Inch Hitch Ball
We do offer a few repair kits for 2-5/16-inch straight channel couplers, such as parts # DM6008 and # DM5817 for Demco couplers. These and all other repair kits are shown on the linked page. If you find you need to replace your straight 2-5/16-inch coupler you can use an item like Demco's Bolt-On 18K Channel Coupler # DM13203-95 which is designed to bolt onto your 3" wide trailer tongue.

On the Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # DM13203-95 the three top row mounting holes' centers are 1-inch from the top flat surface of the coupler. I went to our warehouse and took this measurement to confirm. This and other dimensions are shown on the linked photo.

  • Parts Needed to Switch a Trailer From Surge Brakes To Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
First you are going to need either a Drum # DH54FR or Disc # DH94FR brake actuator depending on what type of brakes you have. Also be sure to check with the local laws where you live as many states are now requiring all trailer axles to have brakes if over a certain weight. If this is the case I would need to know what axles/brakes you currently have. You will also need a Breakaway Kit # 3802311, Junction Box # 3430001-JBK, and 7-Way # H20046. You may also need a Flexible Brake Line #...

The Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - Zinc - 2-5/16" Ball - 3" Channel - Bolt On - 18K # DM13203-95 has an integrated 5/16 inch pin hole with a 3 inch span for that lockable feature. I recommend using the Trailer Coupler Lock # e98888 which has a 3-3/8 inch span and is 1/4 inch diameter. For further security when disconnected from your vehicle, I recommend the etrailer.com Coupler Lock # e98894.

  • Permanently Removing Brakes from a Boat Trailer and Immobilizing the Actuator
More than likely the reason you are having issues with your hitch sliding back and forth is that your coupler is still articulating. To stop it from articulating there are a few options. You can do so by drilling holes in either side and sliding a bolt through to prevent the coupler from compressing or you can weld the coupler to prevent it from moving. You can always remove the coupler and replace it with a coupler like the Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # DM13203-95 (this is a very...

  • Adding EOH Brakes To A 2007 Mastercraft Boat Trailer With Surge brakes

The wiring kit contains everything you need to install and wire in the actuator, including a junction box for your connections. You will simply attach the brake line from your surge coupler to the Hydrastar actuator. As long as the current surge actuator is still...

The max diameter shackle you could fit through the hole on the 3/4 inch long pin is 3/8 of an inch like what the Master Lock Stainless Steel Padlock # ML40D has.

  • Replacement Coupler to Allow Truck Tailgate to Open
Hi Dennis; this will largely depend on the coupler style and size you need. It would also be helpful to know what kind of coupler and latch you have now. I have attached links below for straight tongue and A-frame couplers from Demco. The Demco EZ-Latch like the one found on the # DM13203-95 is pretty low profile so that may work for you. If it has a trigger style latch like the one on the # 12564 then the height difference would probably be enough to let you clear it.

Yes, you need to replace that cracked coupler right away. I'm not sure from the photo what ball size it takes or if you have a straight tongue trailer or A-frame, but get something with a good powder coat or one that is zinc-plated if this is a boat trailer, like the Demco Cast Head Coupler - A-Frame # DM37ZR or Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler # DM13203-95. I have added links below to our selections of both A-frame and straight tongue couplers.

  • 2-5/16 Trailer Coupler Compatible With 3 Inch Channel Tongue
All the channel tongue couplers we offer are fits for a 3 inch channel, but I do have a solution. You could use the Demco # DM13203-95 channel tongue coupler, and shim each side of the channel tongue out using some 1/2 inch steel plate. This would be an acceptable solution.

  • Parts Needed to Convert Surge Disc Brake EZ Loader Trailer to Electric Over Hydraulic
If you wanted to drill holes in the Demco Coupler # DM13203-95 to make it easier to attach to your trailer frame you certainly could. Just be mindful where you drill the holes and don't turn it into swiss cheese. When it's time to pick out an electric over hydraulic kit I would highly recommend the Hydrastar actuators as they are the most reliable and among the quickest reacting. For a kit that comes with everything for your trailer you would want the # HS481-8067.

You are correct, all someone would need to do is cut the metal rods you pointed out to be able to slide the sleeve back of the coupler. Because of that you might be more interested in a Demco Coupler # DM13203-95 which uses a much more concealed latch and lock mechanism that wouldn't be as easy to defeat. For a pin lock for the Demco the part # e98888 would work really well too.
