Question:
Hi, I am comparing Class II 1-1/4inch hitches for a 2011 Subaru Outback wagon. My question is about which hitch has the least amount of setback at the pin from the rear of the car.. the DT/HH or the Curt? My application is a bike rack, so if the pin is too far recessed under the car, there may be issues with clearance on my two-bike tray inner bike too close to car. Do you have any install data?

If your 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon is not the Sport model, we have a couple of hitches that are designed to fit your car.
The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 36493, has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening and measures 5 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the bumper on a 2011 Outback Wagon. If you measure your bike carrier and it has more than 5 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the carrier, it may work well for you.
The Curt hitch we offer, part # C12290, is also a Class ll hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening, but it measures just 3 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the bumper.
I have attached a helpful article that explains how to measure the distance needed to clear the rear of a vehicle for hitch mounted accessories.
All non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth - should be supported with stabilizing straps like part # 18050. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from Curt.
