With a 4,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 400 lbs maximum tongue weight, this Class III 2" receiver gives your vehicle the muscle for light to moderate towing. It’s built for real-world use—great for pulling small trailers, hauling boats, or carrying loaded cargo carriers. Whether you’re setting up a bike rack or towing weekend gear, the rating gives you the confidence that it’s built to handle it.
You don’t need a lift or welding equipment to get this hitch on. The fully welded, custom-fit design bolts directly onto the frame using the included hardware and step-by-step instructions. It’s designed to line up right where it should, so installation is straightforward even with basic tools. The precision, robotic welds make sure everything fits snugly and stays strong once it’s on.
The matte black finish isn’t just for looks—it’s tough and practical. The powder coated steel is corrosion resistant and hides scuffs and dirt better than a glossy finish, keeping it looking cleaner after miles of use. The round-tube design gives it a rugged style under your bumper while still offering lasting protection from rust, road grime, and weather.

The YouTube instructional video helped and made this installation very smooth. perfect fit and it looks great!
Wow! This receiver is perfect. Super sturdy and the price was the best around. Instal was easy too.
This is my second hitch from trailer they are so easy to put on yourself. I am a 70 year old fat guy and put it on took maybe 30 minutes after watching their video.
Very happy with product fit car perfect ly!
Easy install.
This installation was INCREDIBLY EASY! It does take about 45 mins to an hour to install the hitch receiver, but that doesn’t include getting the exhaust moved out of the way. Just a heads up! I found it easiest to remove my mufflers so that everything was out of the way. I replaced my exhaust flange gaskets and muffler hardware while I was at it, all done in about 2hrs. Anything I can do to take care of my subie so it's tow ready! Worth the purchase!
Easier than expected to install.
Absolutely amazing product.
Seems to be good quality, not to bad to install by yourself, would have been a lot easier with a extra person
The hitch has been excellent, it performs well. After a year, the powder coat still looks good. The installation was straightforward and simple.
Pulled U-Haul's biggest trailer from San Antonio TX to Virginia beach Virginia no issues install video was accurate works great !!
I buy all my hitch related needs from eTrailer because of your very detailed reviews, videos and instructions. You have a very good idea what you are getting into before buying. Installation went exactly as expected. I did this in my parking lot with a friend on my 2012 Subaru Forester. Disconnecting/re-connecting the rubber brackets for the exhaust system was the most difficult part so make sure you have some wd40 and eye protection. I got a face full of dirt at one point. Also, if you are doing this by yourself you'll need a way to support the rack while connecting the bolts. It's too heavy to hold with one hand while trying to align the rack and install the bolts with the other.
The rack itself looks good and performs its function as expected. We only use it for our hitch mounted Kuat rack (which I also purchased from eTrailer several years ago).
Hitch works as advertised. Install was straightforward, some drilling required, but not a big deal.
The bolt holding wire lines were crucial to the install and made my life so much easier.
Would recommend and will come back next time I need something like this.
Thanks!

Hitch is still working great, no complaints at all. I have not even checked a single bolt, but all seems to be holding strong!
A little difficult for me to install but I got it. Very satisfied, solid.
Easy to install and I use it primarily for my bike rack and have no problems.
Great product and straight forward inst all!
The product was as expected and delivered on time. The video of the installation was excellent although it required some augmentation with another video about dealing with the exhaust hangers (they need lubrication). Over all I am very satisfied.
This hitch was a very good buy. price was good, sturdy, not to bad of an install and the video from etrailer was really helpful during the install process. Overall I'm happy and use it confidently.

The hitch held up to multiple camping trips and boat launches. After a year it’s still holding up great ??
Installation semi difficult from underneath exclusively. When I pulled spare tire to add wiring kit, I found small stickers covering holes in the top of the frame. The hitch bolts could have been dropped thru from the top, this would have made a 30 min install like 10mins. Provided fishing wire is a genius idea
Does what it's supposed to do. Just sits there until we have to make a garbage run, and then it works great. etrailer hitches are strong and long lasting. Got one on my Outback as well, several years old and doing great.

The trailer hitch has worked flawlessly for us. I would recommend an additional coat of black paint on the inside, as we did encounter some rust. But that is to be expected. I am very pleased with our trailer hitch.

I had my mechanic install this, since they already had the car up on the lift for something else. As far as the hitch itself, it has worked perfectly with my 2010 Subaru Forester.
Had a customer request this part. Ordered it, showed up 4 days later than what was stated. now i am stuck with an odd ball hitch
Heavy duty material. Easy install.
Wasn't the most fun to install in the middle of July but the instructions were easy to follow and I didn't have any bloody knuckles afterwards
Quick delivery, straightforward installation. Use of two scissor jacks was the key to completing the job. Will use this company again.

Looks fantastic, Paul! Using jacks is a great idea. What other DIY projects do you have coming up?
It’s a stout and nice looking hitch reciever.
It is a bit challenging for installation with removal of exhaust pipes required.
