Can The Hydraulic Brake kit AKFBBRK-35-D Be Used With 13" Wheels?

Question:

My boat trailer has 13 inch wheels with 5 lugs on 4.5. Its a 2014 Tracker Marine boat trailer 2700 GVW with hydraulic surge brakes. Will this assembly work even though it states for a larger wheel? Hydraulic Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - Free Backing - Dacromet - 10 - Left/Right Hand - 3,500 lbs Part Number: AKFBBRK-35-D

Hey Tom, thanks for reaching out. Wheel compatibility actually comes from the hub since the surface area on the hub is what determines the wheel size. So, if your trailer already uses 10" drums and 13" wheels, there will be no problem using the # AKFBBRK-35-D brake kit. That is a pretty common setup, so I imagine you'll be good to go.

Hi Tom, My trailer has 14 inch wheels and the drums are 10 inch. I would measure your drums to see if they are 10 inches. If you have 10 inch drums you shouldn’t have a problem.

They are brakes, they work. However... DO NOT SUBMERGE IN SALT WATER! I purchased the galvanized option... made no differance. Lasted under 6 months. If there was a way to rinse the salt water out, it would help.
