Hello Mike,

Thanks for writing in.

On a 2019 Harley-Davidson FLHS, the cross bar for the B&W Biker Bar Motorcycle Tie-Down System # BWMC2301 typically ends up mounting about 30 inches behind the center of the front axle. That can vary slightly depending on how the bar is positioned on the frame rails and whether the bike has any aftermarket parts installed, but that measurement is a solid starting point for trailer planning.

The clamps attach to the frame underneath the bike near the rider floorboard area, and on the FLHS there is normally good clearance around the mounting points. Once the bar is properly installed and locked into the trailer base, the system gives a very solid connection with very little movement or wobble, which is one of the reasons touring bike owners like this setup so much.

Before permanently mounting the trailer latch plate, I recommend mocking the bar into position under the bike first and checking for any interference with floorboards, exhaust components, or engine guards. After confirming everything clears properly, you can roll the bike into the exact trailer position you want and mark the latch plate location directly underneath. That helps make sure the engagement is smooth and centered the first time.

It is a really clean setup once installed, especially for larger Harley touring models like your FLHS.

Where are you hauling your bike to? I have quite the group of friends that make it up to Sturgis yearly, and down to Daytona Bike week. The bike went with the ex, will just have to get my own someday =)

@MikeM. Put you bike where you want it in the toy hauler. The B&W will set right in front of your passenger pegs on the frame. Best invention I've ever seen

I am not a fan of straps. They make me nervous. Tight enough, too tight, etc... I have used the B&W biker bar in my toyhauler and on a flatbed trailer I have. I love that I have confidence that the bike will be right where I put it. In the toyhauler all is great. On my flatbed trailer (tandem axle car hauler), I believe the trailer is sprung too stiff. I had two bikes on the trailer both on B&W biker bars. The bikes both moved rearward as I drove. The bars slipped on the bike frames. I tightened them up with the same result. I added a strap to keep the bikes from moving. Like I said great in the toy hauler but I think the flatbed is sprung too stiff.

What I did was put the cross bar on the frame, then positioned the bike where I wanted it and marked the floor of toy hauler.
