Question:
What is the ACTUAL amperage draw?

Hey Jay. The GE Appliances Low-Profile RV AC w/ Heat Pump item # GE38RR will pull 13-16 amps during normal operation. It pulls 18 to 22+ amps during the initial few seconds of compressor startup. It does require it's own 20-amp time delayed circuit breaker in your RV's power center. This is a 15,000 Btu AC with a built in heat pump. It includes an air box designed for ducted applications.
If you're worried about the extra amps required when the item # GE38RR kicks on, I recommend adding the SoftStartRV Soft Start for Single Zone Air Conditioner Setup item # SSR54FR. It'll store up energy so there's not such a drain on your electrical system when the AC kicks on.
