Question:

My truck is a 2022 Z71 1500 diesel LT. Will this EH25HR hitch fit without having to modify the air dam or remove the tow hooks?

Hi George,

For your 2022 Chevy 1500 Z1 LT, the EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch part # EH25HR, is the only front hitch that will fit the diesel model of this truck. To install this hitch the tow hooks will need to be permanently removed as they will be in the way of some of the bolts used to install the brackets. The air dam will need to be slightly trimmed as well to get the hitch properly installed. This is a no drill installation, so you'll need to use the included fish wire to pull fasteners through the frame.

What are you going to use your front hitch for?

We just purchased e-bikes and need to pull a trailer that the frame is too lightweight to install a hitch receiver on. So we want to get a carrier for the bikes and put them on the front of the truck.

@GeorgeT George, I have a 23 rst 3.0 and got the hitch for the sa.e reason, e bikes while pulling my rv. I had a shop install it for $125 and it works great. They did have to cut a notch out of the air dam for the reciever to fit but my tow hooks are still where they belong. I did put a cap on it so it doesn't get anything blocking the tube. I have 2 Aventon Adventure 3 bikes that fit great with plenty of clearance. Sometimes my warning light comes on when bikes are on since it thinks something is close but doesn't effect driving or apply the brakes. Usually it turns off.

@Michael Thanks for the thorough review! Glad the hitch is working well for your setup and bike rack. The sensor alert you mentioned can happen with accessories mounted up front, but it’s great to hear it’s only occasional. We appreciate you sharing your experience!
