Hidden Cross Tube for a Clean, Factory Look

The EcoHitch Hidden front-mount trailer hitch is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible. The hitch's cross tube bolts onto your vehicle's frame. No drilling or welding is required. Once the hitch is installed, only the receiver will be visible. This means that your vehicle can maintain its stylish, from-the-factory look, and you won't have to do any major modifications to its body or frame.

Eco-Friendly Material

With a combination of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, each EcoHitch is made of a strong metal alloy that will withstand the test of time. The lightweight alloy is composed of recycled materials. Traditional steel hitch manufacturing can use coal or oil, which can contribute to harmful gas emissions. The EcoHitch's recycled materials limit the carbon footprint during manufacturing, so you get a sturdy trailer hitch while also helping the environment.

Rigorous Strength Testing Ensures Durability

This EcoHitch trailer hitch is tested for durability and sturdiness. Using Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), individual points of stress on the hitch can be detected and remedied. Designers can accurately test the hitch to ensure that it will meet or exceed SAE J684 standards. The EcoHitch Hidden trailer hitch is carefully researched and strength tested for a durable, high-quality hitch that can resist damage while on the road.

Awesome piece of equipment. Install went just as the video showed. Will be carrying ebike rack which are heavy, and this hitch can handle it. Carrying bikes while towing is the reason for the added hitch. The tightness of the hitch to the frame was solved with a few taps of a sledge hammer, went right in afterwards. Definitely is a 2person job, however I did it by myself and a floor jack. Be patient and be prepared to move around on the ground back and forth. A good magnetic light helps to see to line up bolt holes. Go easy with the fish wires while taking bolts off ! I had to retwist the wires with needle nose pliers because I pulled them off ! Follow instructions and you can do it with patience at critical times !

This hitch is doing the job for me, carrying bike rack when towing an RV. Have bought a portable winch which slides into this same hitch. These trucks should come with these front hitches ! I also like the magnetic plugplate to keep the hitch clean ! I want to get a step to use in it, makes tinkering in engine bay easy. Very useful addition to my truck.

@Chas Nice! what kind of bikes do you have?

by:
2015 ford F-250 Super Duty

This front bumper receiver assembly is perfect for my 2015 F250.
The main reason I purchased it was to help me pull my travel trailer into a tight spot in back of my house. It works perfectly. It gives me more steering capabilities than backing alone with my long wheelbase truck.

The bonus is having the availability of an extra mount for our bike rack when going camping. I also use it for my electric winch and sometimes to haul my generator in a cargo basket while fully loaded otherwise.
I use my truck for both work and recreation, so this really increases the capabilities of my truck. Thank you for offering such a great product.

I should also add that installation difficulty on a scale of 1-10 would probably be a 7 for one person. If I had help, it would probably be a 4.
I did it myself and used a hydraulic jack to hold it in place while aligning the mounting holes.

by:

Had to bend the ends out to make it fit but otherwise really nice product and works very well. Installed on 2012 F-250 Superduty. Took about 3 hours for 1 person to install. Note to future users… will need a 4 inch drop hitch to push trailers around at a level height. Hitch currently sits 27 inches off the ground.

2016 F250 crew cab 4x4 diesel, fit is perfect and all clearances were great, within 1/4”. No modifications needed but the tight fit meant I needed to use a jack for final fitment. Very happy with the results and is exactly what I needed. Thanks!

Great, highly recommend, provides the convenience I wanted. I’ve jockeyed trailers where I wanted to and recovered several vehicles with my portable winch mounted.

by:
2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Let me start by saying this is not the first front receiver I've purchased from etrailer all my trucks get front receivers for winches. This time though the box shows up on time but the corner is blown open and the receiver is hanging out. Also the bag of bolts has been ripped open and half the bolts are loose in the open box but to my surprise after counting everything, they were all there.spray foam packing would have mitigated all that. Moving on. Went to install the receiver and the end mounting plates are 1/4 inch too tight. Won't fit the frame rails. Had to spread each side 1/8 out with a Hydraulic bottle jack. Apparently using a jig during the manufacturing process is optional these days. After all that I finally got it to fit good. It looks good and the welds seem adequate. I think it could have been installed in an hour by myself if not for having to "adjust" it but was still done in under 2 hours.

A year later. Still love it. Has a 13k winch mounted on it I use regularly and with the addition of snatch blocks Im sure Ive well exceed the rated pull for the hitch but have yet to damage it. Just get one already, you cant go wrong

I love it! You don’t know it’s there until you need it, I use it for moving trailers around with ease and also my cargo carrier when I have my camper on the truck.

Hitch is holding up very well. It is very strong.

by:
Pontiac Trans Sport Van

The installation took several hours, very difficult to align the bolt holes, a lot of banging and prying. I had to spread the mounting flanges using a hydraulic jack about 1/4" just to get the hitch in place. The flanges may have been bent in during shipment. Once in place the hitch is quite solid. I will be using it to transport two 80lb ebikes.

by:

This is the second front hitch receiver I have installed from Etrailer, and I am just as impressed with this purchase, as I was with the previous one.

One thing to note: the product states is not compatible with the brush guards, and that is not accurate. It was very troublesome to lineup both the brush guard supports, and the receiver supports with the frame. But it is doable with patience, an extra set of hands, and colorful use of the adult language. (installation w/o a brush guard was a cake walk)

I had my previous front hitch on an F150 for 5 years, and have had this one on my current F250 for a little over a year. They hold up very well, provide versatility to haul loads on the front of the truck, so you can fully utilize the bed, or tow a full trailer. This is now the first modification I suggest to new truck owners.

Hey Jacob. I'm glad that you were still able to get it to work with your brush guard. Sometimes colorful language helps. It looks awesome with your bike up front!

great quality, easy install, perfect fit. works great to hold my front winch cradle.

by:

Simple enough, works perfectly for pushing trailers in tight places. In the bumper is better than below the bumper when using offroad.

by:
2015 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Had a challenge with one the bolts to hold the hitch to frame. Just would not take seat to tighten up. I was to gentle with it.

Nice it is what I was looking for!

by:

It was easy to install by myself with a floor jack. With winch added it has got me unstuck twice without having to call for help. Because it's above the bottom of bumper don't have to worry about dragging in the mud. I use the magnetic tag to hide it outside of hunting season. thanks Doug

by:

Easy fit, used a floor jack to steady. Hardware was spot on and torque specs were easy to find. Grateful it was a clean fitment.

by:
2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Mounted the EcoHitch hidden front mount trailer hitch on 2011 Ford F 250 with a Ranch Hand Grill Guard. The Ranch Hand uses two of the same holes as the EcoHitch's four mounting holes. Getting the pieces lined up is a bit of a challeng although no modifacations were necessary. If I have the need to do it again I would let an installation shop do it. etrailer's customer service and commuication are excellent, shipping time and delivery were very fast.

by:
2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty

I don't know if my frame is wider for a reason, but this installation required 2 bottle Jack's and a floor jack in the middle. It was a very tight fit! That said, it worked great with my ranch hand brush guard and the mounting hardware all worked even though they use the same mounting points. I'm excited to start using it for winching and for a wheel-less trailer.

  • Front Hitch for Parking 6,600 lb Trailer With 2014 Ford F-350
Hello Jonathan; since you're maneuvering the trailer into a tight spot on your lawn you need to go off of the gross trailer weight. The Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch # 65049 maxes out at 5,000 lbs so you will need a hitch with a higher rating. The only option is the EcoHitch Hidden Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # EH59FR. The actual weight of the EcoHitch front hitch part # EH59FR is 57 lbs. The good news is that the weight of hitches does not count against the vehicle's weight capacity since essentially the hitch becomes part of the vehicle chassis and is not a hitch accessory that gets supported by the hitch.
